It's really funny to listen to fans at a HS game and how they reference college and NFL rules. The best one is "he was out of the tackle box" on an intentional grounding call. Or the OL of the kicking team was down field prior to the punt. Then they want to argue with you when you try to tell them that's not a rule on Friday night.

Weren't there several games switched to Sunday several years ago when there was bad weather on finals weekend? IIRC, there was a lot of ice. Probably wrong though.

Most officials don't want to be noticed but as a fan you can't help but recognize the R when he walks on the field. As in other sports, sometimes you have to adjust your game plan because of the way the game is called. Do you have a certain "white hat" in your area that you are glad to see working your game or when you see who is working your game you know there are going to be a lot of flags and inconsistent calls? Not necessary to name names either good or bad but do fans pay attention who the R is?

Remember. If it weren't for officials, it would just be recess. Appreciate the job they do. Complain if you have to but then move on.
