  1. Very true. Just being stated to highlight that not all of their points were scored while being directly guarded by Pig. Very true statement though.
  2. As I did state, they did get theirs, but if you look at Pig's numbers with theirs, he scored just as well, while causing turnovers that the others did not. Pig rarely turns the ball over. Scoring is not everything.
  3. This game was never in doubt from the warm ups. Pig Williams once again took on the challenge of guarding the other team's best player and doing a stellar job. I counted myself at least 3 or 4 steals by him on Maddox in the first half alone. Pig has shown his defensive presence on 3 of the best guards in the 10th(Ohmer, Crawford, Maddox. IMO they might have gotten theirs especially from the free throw line, but Pig has caused major problems for all of these players and has caused a handful of turnovers for each while still getting his points and keeping his turnovers at a minimum. Pig gets my nod as the best guard right now in the 10th because scoring clearly isn't everything. Mason also did a great job of keeping Snapp to just 6 points. Just need to limit transition scores and keep the fouls down and they can start pulling away from teams like this.
  4. Per Danny Weddle Twitter. St. Francis sophomore scored 58 points in 61-45 win over Piarist School. This was played at St. Patrick Gymnasium which would be the record for most points scored there ever.
  5. Definitely surprised by the margin, but not the outcome. I figured this game would be a bit closer. It got out of hand quick for the Royals and they just couldn't get back into it. Anxious to watch this game film here in a little bit as I wasn't in attendance. In regards to the T on Pig, I know the kid personally and he's a class act. Anything that happened PROBABLY wasn't intentional, but refs see the game differently and have to protect the kids. If it was a pre-cautionary T to keep the game under control as it was getting chippy, I like it.
  6. I think this one will be a pretty close game. The Mason line up is very small and they start 3 guards all right at or under 6ft which could definitely hurt them in the half court sets, but they are all extremely athletic. Mason is also hurting from the depth with 4 players out for about 3 more games, 2 players that will see significant playing time. With that being said, once they get these players back and the chemistry working Mason can be a surprising team and compete in the 10th. If Mason can keep the game at a fast pace and get out in transition I'll take them, but if SK can keep the game slowed and in the half court sets I see them taking it. It will be a good early season test for 2 teams trying to find out what they have for later in the season.
  7. How much playing time did Snapp and Pugh see in this game?
  8. Bracken by quite a few. Has anyone seen Bracken under their new head coach Hinson? I'm sure he's going to bring some intensity to this Bracken team
  9. Josh has every intention to play, but unfortunately is in Jamaica right now on a vacation. Could back up his return and slow his rehab
  10. Yes due to a New Cath school thing where they go to "March For Life" down in DC. They are not rescheduling, but I think they should. It'd be a good experience for Mason to play them, to get them ready for district.
  11. What about tomorrow? Mason plays New Cath. New Cath beat Highlands by 17 points...:ohbrother:
  12. Game tonight between the Birds & Royals held at the downtown ladies' gym. Any predictions?
