  1. I heard an interesting fact on Around the Horn yesterday. Of the 41 African American coaches who have been a head coach at the D1 level and were fired, only one was ever rehired as a head coach again. Just something to think about, and it's something I'll bet Coach Strong is aware of too.
  2. He won't be getting better money by going to Auburn. I think it would be a bad move for him to leave UofL for a few reasons. First, we have the ability to pay him whatever it takes to keep him. That's a plus. Second, UofL is in a pretty good position right now. We're moving to a much better football conference, but the conference should be winnable more often than not. On the flip side of that, I think Louisville would be more understanding if they had a couple down years. I don't think Strong gets fired if he has two consecutive five win seasons. And finally, he'd be leaving a fan base that absolutely adores him. So IMO, I think it would be way to risky of a move going to Auburn.
  3. No, we would just have to turn a rag tag group of oil drillers into astronauts in a matter of 7 days and have them detonate a nuclear missile deep into the asteroids core.
  4. Well, at least since Rick had relations with that psycho lady probably.
  5. The only things that I really hate about winter are getting out of my warm bed and getting out of the shower. Snow days still make me happy.
  6. Huge! This is great from both a basketball and football standpoint. I hope the league can stay together too...
  7. Why would his arm be different that any other hard throwing pitcher? He just has the build and athleticism to whip it up faster. He doesn't have poor mechanics or anything.
  8. Oh I got you. I overread the first post which made the second one confusing. But he has the remainder of the off season to get himself back into shape as a starter. Then if he isn't working out, it's not like there wouldn't be space for him in the bullpen.
  9. Well it looks like Florida State, Clemson, NC State and the rest need to tell Duke, Wake and UNC to get their heads out of their butts and vote UofL in. Apparently we were one vote shy of acceptance.
  10. Poor academic reputation for athletes, or poor academic reputation as a university? It couldn't be the latter.
  11. If you want the short version, we would all die. Just FYI:lol:
  12. I don't think so. It was basically about what would happen if a large meteor hit earth.
  13. Also, did you know that the moon probably formed billions of years ago after a huge asteroid drilled our young planet. The asteroid itself likely combined with the earths core. The impact, however, would have caused massive amounts of dust and debris to be flung out into the atmosphere. Over the next few million years ish, the dust and debris condenced into a giant ball, thus forming the moon. I was watching the discovery channel a few weeks ago.
  14. Number one college sports town in America isn't Cincinnati. UC athletics doesn't bring in the most revenue in America. Nope, you'd have to look about 100 miles down river to find that magical place.
  15. I would love to see Aroldis in the rotation. If anyone has the God given talent to be an ace, it's him. We brought the guy in to start, and it's time we see what he can do as a starter. Last season we had one of the best bullpens in baseball, and I don't think it will fall off without Chapman. If him starting doesn't work out, we know he can be a hammer out of the bullpen. Also, Broxton would more than likely do fine in the closer role, since he's been in the position for years. He's a veteran guy with a whole bunch of saves under his belt. Having Cueto, Chapman, Latos, Arroyo and Bailey as the Starting Rotation would be SOLID. If you exchange Leake for Chapman, the rotation isn't nearly as sexy. Not to mention, If you have AC in the rotation, you're guaranteeing sell outs. Not so much with Leake. (BTW I'm not trying to bash Leake, because I really like the guy. Chapman is just better.) Question:Can we expect Nick Masset to be back at 100% this season? If he is, he could close if Broxton struggled. He's always wanted to close, right? I for one am pretty giddy about the deal, and I'll be pretty upset if Chapman isn't named a starter this spring.
  16. My guess is that they're wanting to settle this internally. Especially since its been more than two weeks.
  17. Well I'm not one to compare scores, but Cooper beat whoever Conner lost to and Conner beat CovCath. I think if there were any rankings that came out at the end of the season, they would be the #2 team in NKY. That would only be IF they beat Bowling Green.
  18. I wonder what kind of impact that would have had on earth. The scientist in me thinks it wouldn't have been a positive one.
  19. That stinks. Gorgi is my favorite player by far. He's a really good guy off the court.
