  1. All this talk about the East and their offense. Watch for Wes Walters for the West. He will be playing for University of the Cumberlands at OLB this fall and he has been in the weight room for 6 months getting ripped. He is ready to get some playing time before reporting to camp in August. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b441hPzmtqM
  2. Wes Walters of Conner went to The University of the Cumberlands.
  3. Wes Walters from Conner has offers from Union, Campbellsville, KY Christian, Thomas More, Marietta College and Heidleberg. I think he will end up at Union or Campbellsville. * 2010-2011 Conner HS Football Man of the Year * Northern Kentucky Division 1 All-Conference * Northern Kentucky Division 1 All-Star Team * Northern Kentucky 6A All-District Team
  4. Can you explain? Do they have a great passing QB and Recievers that are not being used? They look like a running team to me with the big line and good RBs. They need to throw the ball more not doubt but I didnt think they had the personel to be a real throwing team. What do you think they should be running on offense? That is a serious question I am not at many Boone County games so I am asking you what you think they should be running on offense?
  5. Before you cry too much most of those kids came from Conner and that's why Conner will be 5A starting next year. Conner lost at least a third of their sophomore athletes 3 years ago and now these kids are 3 year starts at Cooper. Boone hardly got touched with the new school, period. They got beat by Conner last night whom have lost more then Boone so the excuse doesnt fly. Its just a down year and the coaching doesnt match their players abilities. Stop there run and you stop them. The Rebels threw 6 passes last night and completed only 3 with 2 interception. Conner's LBs were up to the task of stopping Oppenheimer and that's all it takes. By the way Jordan O is a stud and its a shame that he is having a tough senior year. He has worked his butt off every year to have to suffer a senior season like this is tough for him l bet.
  6. It simple, its just a down year or two. The Rebels are just having a down year after loosing talent the past two years. They have the bases for a good program and they will be back after the cycle. Just my guess.
  7. Did Ryle lose some games I didnt hear about? Granted they seem to play down to their competition some what but wins are wins and they are getting the job done. Some might say that it is good to win some close hard fought games now instead of rolling over everyone. I would give them the respect the deserve until they start to actully lose games. Look past Ryle at your own risk. 5-1 with the only defeat being to Highlands. Yeah, they are in trouble. DUH! Lets just wait and see what happens next week. I think SK has a great chance to win a close game but it really could go either way. SK 24 Ryle 21 is my guess but Ryle is a good team and I dont think things are as bad as some of the Ryle and Union people seem to think.
  8. Good Game Dixie. Pike is much better running the ball then I thought. Dumb playing him the last series. If he gets hurt Dixie's season is shot.
  9. I was looking at play types which include plays where he is forced to run and does not throw. So I agree he will not throw 35 but I would expect more then 20 and I will stick with 3 interceptions by Conner. Only 21 hours to start to find out who is the better team.
  10. Just check the Simon Kenton vs Dixie stats Dixie Total Plays = 88 Pass Plays = 35 Run Plays = 53 From KHSAA.org offical game stats.
  11. As good as Pike is you still have to worry about the 25 passes Conner doesnt intercept and Dixie's ability to run after the catch. They also have a decent running game so there are many ways they can attack. Conner has a good DL too so it should be a good fight with the talent Dixie has on offense this year.
  12. I agree you can't read too much into 7 on 7's I am just pointing out some information about the two teams when they have actually been on the field together. I am sure Pike was trying to complete the passes when he threw them. My main point it that many beleive that Conner's defense is better then last year and I will be suprised if Dixie scores a lot. I dont expect Conner to score much either so I think it will be a exciting game to watch. I am physched up for this game. I hope they all play their best and nobody gets hurt. Conner 21 Dixie 14
  13. I predict that Dixie (Pike) will throw 30-35 times and he will be picked 3-5 times depending on how desperate they get late in the game. Wes Walters picked Pike 3 times at the Conner and Dixie 7 on 7 I was there. Here is what the reporter wrote about the finial 7 on 7 Here are some FACTS NKYSportsblog.com Posted by Rick Broering on Thursday, July 29, 2010 - Defensively I was very impressed with what the Cougars have. Again their linebacking corp was on the smaller side weight wise, but they have good speed at the position. Logan Kremer, son of former UK linebacker Jeff Kremer, looks really good after missing over a year of time with a detached hamstring. He's by far their thickest linebacker but he has good athleticism and speed as well. He had a lot of deflections and was good in coverage with an interception against CovCath. Kremer will be a senior. - The other linebacker that stuck out to me was senior-to-be Wes Walters. Walters is on the thin-side for a linebacker but in coverage he moved like a defensive back. He had his hands on everything thrown in his vicinity. These linebackers really have great ball skills and with they way they drop in coverage I expect a lot of interceptions out of them. On Conner’s DBs Jared Simpson, Michael Muller and Cameron Fogle - As good as Simpson and Fogle were on offense, they were equally good if not better on defense. They each had an interception in the first scrimmage against Campbell County and may have had more that I missed in the other scrimmages as I was walking back and forth. One thing is for sure... A quarterback is taking a big risk if you throw the ball to a receiver that is covered by one of these two, because their hands and ball skills are really good for defensive backs. I also liked junior-to-be Jake Mullderink. He seemed to be in the right place more often than not and also had an interception against Lakota West. Conner is +7 on the year already in turnovers 3 games in.
  14. Killed in scrimage against Beechwood? What scrimage game did you watch? Conner ran 1 offensive scheme and 1 defensive scheme the whole game. Beechwood threw everything they had at Conner on both sides of the ball an still only scored 1 more varsity touchdown than Conner. Sounds like someone hasnt done their homework (or doesn't understand anything about football much less scouting).
  15. Schedule nearly identical to last year's. What happened in the Boone/Conner game? Conner beat Boone 42-14 with the same "weak" schedule to start last year. Oldham is a good team, much better then Dixie, they won their next 10 after Conner beat them last year and they have killed everyone since Conner beat them this year. So I dont agree that the Oldham game is weak. As for Lloyd and Scott, they give Conner a chance to gain confidence and refine their offense before tougher games start. This will be a good game but look for Conner's defense (Linebackers and DBs) to shut down Pike for a low scoring game. Conner 21 Dixie 14
