I believe Boone was built in the early 60's (not positive as I did not go there) but I did play sports in 60-61 & 62 and remember regional basketball being played at Boone in the early 60's. Maybe Boone is land locked or maybe the families,grads, or players do not have as much money as CC. Maybe they just don't care I don't know. Yes, I think the young man who was pitching does have a shot at POY, but for me he already is my star and will be no matter if he gets it or not. He will do well for himself in the future, thank you and I'm counting on your vote !!!!!!!!

I do not know the distances for Boone, maybe somone can supply the answer, if not I will check at Boone's next home game that I attend.

I don't keep a book at these games but I know Boone had more theen 3 hits off Sexton, 7 or 8 sounds about right , plus I don't recall Dixie making 5 errrors.

Looking back on your post of the Cov Cath/ Boone game you made a big point out Reese's home run (325' with about a 20 foot net to carry) so I guess you are now saying it was a cheap home run. I do not believe Boone's field is that small compared to other high school fields that are as old as Boone's.

Way would BA not be a big factor? I agree home runs may not be that important but I don't think Cov Cath field is a monster field as far as home runs go either.

Both coaches got a little upset with the umpires, as there were a couple of close plays that maybe could have went either way. The home plates umps strike zone seemed to get smaller as the game went on but it was the same for both sides. Sexton seemed to get a littke tired and maybe a little upset with the home plate ump. (JMO) Boone left a lot on runners on base as I know a couple of times they had runners on first and second or second and third with no outs and failed to score, HUff was not very happy and I don't blame him.

Yes, Steve is his dad, also Gary Lemons is his uncle, two pretty good players in their day.

Boone was winning 7-1 in the 4th inning. Time was 10:00 pm and I had to leave, did see Doug Teegarden hit one out to right in the top of the 4th. Laueman pitching for Boone.

Boone came from behind 3-0 going into the 7th, they scored 3 in the 7th to tie the game then 3 in the top of the 8th to win. NIce win for Boone. Maybe Firstbase will post the stats as I do not have them.

Why, what does it really mean, I know they will play to win no matter what. Just MO on what the games mean, being number one at the end is all people will talk about not during the season. So play to win the district and then the region.

Boone has more then two pitchers who can get the job done and other then "PRIDE" the next game that really means anything for Boone is the Conner game for district play.

Boone will play HIghlands at 7:30 at Champion after playing Dixie at 5:00 at Dixie. Do not believe Teegarden will be pitching either game. Will go with Boone in both games.

Not only did Wendeln #7 start the scoring in the 7th he made a great catch in the outfield to save a couple of runs, a super play.

Teegarden was not himself and everyone can be hit on any given day so both are true.

Teegarden did not have one of his better days yeaterday, had some control problems with his breaking balls. CCH has a nice club but as stated above on any given day you never know what these kids will do. I still will take Teegarden on the mound any time against anyone. As for the last play of the gme the runner was called out on the double play but he was NOT out, bad call. Not that it matters, just wanted to state the facts. Hope to see these two teams again in the regional tournment as I believe Boone will play better on the mound and in the field. Boone hit the ball well but everything was at a CC fielder, just one of those days, maybe next time. NIce game for CCH good luck the rest of the way (except against Boone).

Looking at Boones schedule, all the district teams only play each other once during the regular season. Don't know why but that is whats on the schedule.

Only game on Boones schedule for the 2 teams. If they get to play (weather does sound good for next week) Boone 7 - Ryle 3 just because of my bias for Boone. I'm sure it will be a good game no matter who wins !!!

Was told that 3 runs for PRP were unearned, still 4 bb is not a good outing for Teegarden. Still early in year and very cold weather makes it more difficult for all the players. Looking forward to this weekend at Harrison County, weather permitting.

Any game stats ?

Teegarden is the second baseman. This was a five inning game, the second for Boone County. Questiion, is the home team responable for calling in the game stats? I saw nothing in the paper on Boone games from Monday or Tuesday. Teegarden pitched a 5 inning no hitter Monday as Boone defeated Ludlow 11-0. Laumann did not play in either game, should return soon I heard. If Blake T is number 25 for HC, he can hit.

Boone County has a press box and a lot of good games.
