  1. From a pure perspective that is true but just think how many other teams and young men and women would get to experience the state tournament atmosphere if there were divisions. Personally speaking my child plays in a district with 2 6A schools who have the ability to attract quality players outside their school districts. I am not questioning or criticizing any parent, player or coach for transfers but I do think it would allow more kids to enjoy being a state champion. For life experiences in the future I think it would be much more rewarding for young people if you crowned six champions instead of one.
  2. Heard Jenna stayed after the Conner game and congratulated each of Conner's seniors as they left the locker room. She is a class act on and off the court. Best of luck to a great young lady, she represents her school and team very well.
  3. Congratulations to the Lady Cougars finishing the season at 20/9. Great turnaround and wish the girls the best of luck in the districts. The JV girls are playing in the region 9 JV tournament championship again after losing the championship game last year to ND. Coach Stamm and his staff have done a tremendous job and the program is certainly going in the right direction. Go Lady Cougars and believe!!!!
  4. I think Walton wins but coach Dawn is certainly going to have a very good game plan, New Cath will however need to execute against a VERY good Walton team. Best of luck to both teams and I think this speaks volumes of the quality of NKY girls basketball.
  5. Did not realize it was a full schedule for the boy's but can confirm Simon Kenton girls play Conner girls tonight scheduled to start at 7:30.
  6. Congrat's to the Lady Cougars JV team beating ND in the 1st round of the regional JV tournament. 8th grader Taylor Gambrell was 7 of 8 from the line in the 4th to help them pull away late. The future looks bright for Conner and Coach Stamm. Congrats to JV head coach Blake Clary!
  7. Yes, you have been a great supporter of the program and NKY high school sports. The Big games are coming up and these young women will be tested. ND, Ryle and Boone are all very good teams/programs. It starts at Highlands tomorrow, another good 9th region team.
  8. I believe in the Lady Cougars! Last year the doubters said they had no talent and would take years to rebuild. They are 13 and 2, have quality wins and most ironically in this discussion. Go Lady Cougars!
  9. Hard fought game tonight with the Lady Cougars winning their 7th straight game. Great job Lady Cougars! The ST Henry team is very good and well coached.
  10. The first annual State Farm Holiday Classic hosted by the Conner Lady Cougars begins on Tuesday and will finish on Friday this week. 11. Hard fought game and the Beechwood girls played their hearts out. Panda great photos as always and hope to see you at the State Farm Conner Lady Cougar Classic Holiday Tournament next week.
  12. The Lady Cougars are off to a 2/0 start and seem to be playing hard for coach Stamm. Good Luck ladies next week against St. Pat and Campbell Co.
  13. Toria Fisher from Conner has also been invited to tryout. There was an oversight with the original reported list and her name was left off. Best of luck Toria I am sure you will do the Lady Cougars proud!
  14. I have not watched the other player or players mentioned, there maybe someone better, but the complete package is untouchable. She is Strong, Fluid, Athletic, plays Big and Small and could play any spot in the game at the HS level. The MOST special talent is what a teammate she is and her ability to help players around her tap their full potential.
  15. Best of luck to Conner's seniors they will do exciting things in the future.
  16. By Marginal I mean not a top 5 team in the state. You have to give credit to the other players around Moss and how the have played to their full potential. Boone would certainly still be a top 10 team in the region but I don't think would be the favorite to win without her. Nell is a great coach and is an X factor in every game. Great team and a great program!
  17. Fair enough, start or play , there are girls on the team other than Tori that could do both for other region 9 teams.
  18. I would agree to compete for a regional title they need to develop. I read a statement "stating" no other player on this team could play on another region 9 team, which as I stated was wrong, inaccurate and to me bashing. It does take time to build a program but I also remember a statement that "I hope Conner has talent at the middle school level, because they don't have anyone but Toria" again to me bashing. They have consistently played 4 juniors and 4 sophomores this year who are gaining valuable experience. Dawn Peacock healthy is as athletic as anyone in the region and next year Ellerie Kring will be back healthy. They have 3 girls 6ft or taller and 2 good point guards coming back. This team will make some noise next year under coach Stamm's leadership and direction. Better days are ahead in Hebron. Coach Stamm is well liked and has the support he needs to build this program. These girls have been bashed in the stands and on th blog's and I am simply standing up for these young women. I wish we could all understand that these are experiences these girls will remember for life, as positive roll models we should make the criticism positive not negative. I do respect your response.
  19. Well, I do have a child on the team and thank god you only have your opinion. Boone without Moss is only marginal and Conner has played competitive ball against some good teams. Tori is a great player and without her it's a different club and record. Also these children that need to develop are doing just that, last night coach had 2 sophomores, 2 juniors and Toria in the 4th qt and they played well, hard and defeated a good team. If Gamm does not go down sure it may be different. If you know coach Stamm as you indicate, you would know he is high on the younger kids in program. Also please remember "kids" as you put it, read this stuff. Although we are dealing with competitive sports the children learn much more than winning and losing, some negative from fans like yourself. My guess, you never really played the game because you would know that as you put "kid's" down. Your probably one of the fans that sit in the gym and bad mouth these children. I suggest you find a new hobby other than bashing children. Finally I have watch teams you mentioned and I am certain that anyone one of Conner's top 7 girls would see playing time for the schools you mentioned, some more than others. I can't wait until Conner improves and when that happens please do the program a favor and stay away!!!
  20. Big win for the lady Cougars led by Toria Fisher scoring 34.
  21. Conner JV is lead by coach Blake Clary, they start four sophomores and one junior, Maggie Clark, Margo Goetting, Samantha Porter, Emily Pluto and one junior Kayla Pompilio. Key support players are Casey Fairchild, Jenna Buck (starter before getting injured), Stephanie McMillian, and three freshman, Mattie Myers, Brook Maines and Sydney Himes. I do apologize if I have misspelled someones name. The team is 12/4 and are having an exciting season. Conner has a bright future.
  22. Toria Fisher reached 1,000 points scoring 24 in Conner's victory over Holmes tonight in Hebron She is a special basketball player and one of the top students in her class.
  23. my mistake, new to this blogging and I of course know it is NDA. I do apologize.
  24. Conner will have to play a good game but can beat the JV Panda's. Conner beat Boone fair and square and deserve to be playing in the championship. Last year in the freshman tournament Conner lost the game to NDD in the last minute and it was very close. Also Conner Freshman and JV beat Boone last year. Both teams pretty much have the same players and the Conner girls deserve some credit. Beating NDD will be a tall order but certainly something Conner can accomplish. I look forward to a great game and watching some of the future talent for both teams.
