NCC is a 1 a school they compete with the larger schools.

Point taken but unlikely the championship for them is when they play eachother.

The only way for NCC or HHS to get to the regional is to win the championship thus making it that much more important, regardless of what Boone co is doing waiting for it 1st round sacraficial lamb.

I doubt coach Ritchie is doing any dancing over this either. Someone is going to be happy and rested after the first round of the regional

This makes it very interesting for Highlands and NCC. It"s not exactly the best thing for the regional tournament(not having the best teams qualify), but it does make the district championship that much more important. One of these days perhaps the rest of the district will see it makes sence to have the best teams advance not the luckiest. To bad the newport boys seem to be very lucky it would have been justice had it not worked out for them so nicely.

Hand. We had it x-rayed and they couldn't find any breaks, but it is hurt where there are all sort of little bones, can't be sur. They are looking at X-rays again today. She is my daughter so I might be biased, she is tough and will play through the pain.

I wouldn't get to amped about winning or losing tomorrow either, but building confidence is always nice. That said the games that really matter are in about 3-4 wks. Good luck to both teams should be a great game.

No. The only two girls on the all tourney team not in at least the semis, were Sarah Beth Barnett LCA and Kelsea Mitchell of Green Co.(sorry about spelling)

This team would not be the same without Brit. She was the MVP of the regional "A" tourney. I also agree she should have been on the all tourney team, but they wouldn't give them 5. Brit knows what she means to this team as does the rest of the team. Anyone of these girls at any time can step up and be the girl on any given night. I'm sure the people that determined the all tourney team had alot of difficulty with their choices. This team I don't beleive gets to caught up in all the individual awards. they are on a mission to acheive taem goals. One down one to go.

There are 16 regions and we have several teams ranked in the top 20. My daughter plays for NCC, so I might be a little biased, but i beleive that the ninth region is as good as most and better than quite a few. We have been to several big touraments in the state and we have several teams that can compete with anyone I have seen(Boone, Ryle, Highlands and NCC). Some people might think that makes us top heavy but few regions can boast more than 4-5 top teams. As far as depth there are not many teams at any level that can afford to lose starters. Look at UK take Wall, Paterson, or Cousins out and there will be a drastic drop in talent. Kobe off the Lakers. look at what they did without Paul Gasol. Basketball more than any sport relies on stars. Not saying that these girls coming off the bench don' contribute because if you have depth it makes you that much more dangerous. However there will always be a reliance on the starters for any team.

It's not all about points. Rebounds, defense will win more games than a scoring. I know you have to score points but points will come off defense
