This is a totally different ball game IF (I hate using if's) they score at the end of the 1st half, and that KO return isn't called back. Two big plays.

I love the announcers bringing up the Danville disaster I mentioned of. I'd say this comeback is a lot less probable though.

Don't like all the laundry the refs are throwing right now to be honest. Weren't many penalties in the 1st half, but now they're everywhere.

This is going to take a comeback similar to the 2006 Danville disaster.

Nope, it cut out but it's back now. Desales is looking like the team I thought they were right now. NCC on the other hand, very sloppy.

Agreed. Could have made it a lot more reasonable. Then the seemingly slant to Smith with 2 defenders in the area, not the best idea.

I disagree, I like the decision, just not the play they ran. Kick a FG and it's a 5 point game, you get it, you may tie the game. Maybe just me being my dicey self.

False. NCC was ranked #7 in the state on maxpreps that year, Mayfield #8. We can disagree on who we think would win this hypothetical matchup, but it would have been an awesome game.

Well if he counts the NCC-BW game as a true measurement, then so should PT-Mayfield. I personally don't put too much if any stocks in rivalry games. I just sit back and enjoy them and realize the circumstances.

Completely agreed. The 2010 team was just special and was a very confident team. They knew they could just run it down your throat with their huge O-Line and insane running game, they also knew they had good enough receivers in Doyle, Bhola, Cain, etc. The defense was just crazy good though; unlike this year's team they had literally no glaring weakness on defense.

Also, forgot one thing. By far the huge problem with comparing scores is that it can be VERY inaccurate. For example, in 2010 CovCath lost to NCC by 7, Highlands by 7, and Ryle by 54. It's pretty clear that doesn't mean Ryle is 47 points better than either team. 2010 was a crazy year though, it was pretty much the kind of year where I feel a good amount of teams could have competed with just about any team other than Trinity. It definitely would have been fun to see matchups that year like NCC vs. Highlands, or NCC vs. Mayfield, etc.

And Mayfield still only beat a Paducah Tilghman team that year by 3. NCC's losses came against a Ryle team that beat Highlands (a game in which NCC fumbled about 3 times and still came within 3 scores), and a fluke against Beechwood. Not exactly as easy as you say it is.

Leaving out the fact that it's a rivalry game and was by far the worst game they played all year. Ok. With NCC's run through the playoffs that year you could not convince me Mayfield was better. Sorry but you can't just compare those two scores and assume Mayfield was better.

Before anyone jumps and goes all crazy on Walter and Onespiritedfan, I can confirm these incidents; as I saw it happen as well. Just bad sportsmanship, and #75 during the first half was just borderline crazy.

In Bowling Green, looking too far ahead. Their coverage is awful, and they're consistently getting just flat out beat on deep routes.

NCC's just sloppy in general. Bad tackling, receivers running the same routes, dropped balls. Really sloppy.

100% accurate, as you see such last names and siblings of those players at NewCath over the years. With that, it kind of connects Highlands and NewCath in a way.
