  1. Yes... I agree I didn't grow-up around here so I don't have those rival genes, but my child attends Raceland and it is infectious I caught the high school football bug a while back and every year I look forward to the ADI's preview... (the only knock is - I would like to see coverage like this for basketball and baseball)
  2. Yesterday's practice looked like a true hump day, a lot of players dragging their feet with no emotion; just kind of going through the motions. Hopefully today they will come out fired up!!!
  3. RamFan Coach, I agree with Doc, that this would be a better midseason match-up for GC. My thoughts being that every year there are high expectations and some how GC doesn't live-up to them. But this year's squad has had success in the past and they have to build their confidence up so if they were to get a few games under their belts and remember what it is like to win and to be a contender --- the Ashland game may not be so one-sided.
  4. agree Doc... With the Rams playing Sat. allows for me to go to this game:clap:
  5. Half way threw the 2nd quarter I took notice of the penalties WC was racking up and thought to my self this may have been a different outcome if WC played more error free, they basically shot themselves in the foot with the mental breakdowns. You are right the Ram's D did not stop WC, WC stopped themselves.
  6. I'm sold on a big season of the T-Cats, I am hearing nice things about Gregg as a football player and his size and athletic ability just adds to a talented Ashland Squad. Now Greenup is loaded with seniors and that is always a plus, add Lyles in to the mix with a ball controled 'O' & this could = a closer game than expected.
  7. If the Ram's D does not improve this week I think it will be a higher scoring affair, maybe 34 - 26 Raceland.
  8. I noticed on several plays the Rams big DT would stand straight-up and look for the ball rather than plugging a gap, looked to me as if he was playing like a LB.... haha "the o-linemen always want to carry the ball & the d-linemen are always looking for INTs"
  9. I agree on # 44 from fairview, very tuff kid not afraid to lower his shoulder.
  10. WC's QB; Bond, can flat out run, very imprressed with that young man.
  11. The Rams beat West Carter tonight. There were a lot of things done right and a bunch done not so right. The biggest thing I saw was that the Rams played error free football ---> no penalities and only one turn over via INT, (there was a turn over on downs) and if I am not mistaken the O-line did not allow a sack. and the biggest correction needed is tackling tackling and more tackling.
  12. Well said :thumb: I have been told that WC's O & D lines are very fast, they are expecting a good season this year in Olive Hill.
  13. I saw the write-up in the ADI about WC's QB... But what else can Raceland expect to see from WC?
  14. I agree these two teams seems to keep the rival well after they graduate... (in a fun and competitive way)
  15. Boyd County vs Ashland Raceland vs Greenup County
  16. My first thought was wow this many people showed up for what essentially was a suped-up practice. The biggest thing on the field that stood out to me was that the WR's need to catch the ball first. I thought the running game looked pretty soild and with several capable bodies to step in and give quality yardage if called upon.
  17. It will be my 1st time attending a "Meet the Rams" game, it should be fun.
  18. Camp has ended. Meet the Rams tomorrow @ 7:30
  19. Bryan Caudill, Raceland Rams, Junior 2 year as a starter and a power house.
  20. Any other big stand-outs, thus far?
  21. I hear Tyler Nethercutt is preforming at an exceptionally high level & he is an early favorite to be one of the starting WR's
  22. Raceland Lauren Huffman - Rio Grande University Bobby McKee - Spalding University
  23. This class has been deemed the saviors of GC football since they were in JFL, a lot of pressure to put on these young men and new coaches. Good Luck
