Heard from a pretty reliable source that a boy from Kansas City, MO registered at South Laurel High School and he is being highly recruited by Duke.....Anyone know if there is any truth behind this?

Woody, Rakestraw, Martin fro SL Greer from Bell Co. and lots others 13th wasn't as strong as others but they proved thereselves with a fun competitive regional tourney and a sweep in the sectionals!!!!

What did woody do at the plate? He is the senior catcher from South Laurel! Do you have any info on the Junior All-Star game?

I'll give that an echo, I was a junior when these seniors were freshman and they are a talented bunch of hard working athletes. Luke Rakestraw is a fundementally sound shortstop and is the best 0-2 hitter I've ever seen, hes a four year starter that could easilly play D-1 ball somewhere (chat you should be proud). Matt Martin is a great young man that was a 4 year starter for the cardinals and has thrown in the 80's since he was a freshman! Ryan Woody a 3 year starter is a force in the batters box and is a wall behind the plate! And Ricky Bowling is just a freak athlete that can kill the ball. . Matt Peters 3 year letter winner at 1st base sweet swinging lefty. Cody Kirby the best bunter and base runner in the world. Proud of these boys and what they have accomplished in there careers 4 time 50th district champions 2 time 13th Region champions 2 time Semi-State 7 Champions GREAT JOB FELLAS THATS THE WAY TO MAKE US FORMER CARDS PROUD!!!

Everyone in south's starting lineup is hitting over .300 with the exception of there 9 hitter. That is going to be hard to beat they have 4 or 5 guys that could hit into the pepsi party deck at any given time with... 1. Bowling 2. Woody 4. Martin 5. Rakestraw 6. Peters this is going to be fun to watch!!!

I live in London and it's rained hard hear talk to to a player in Lexington and he said they didn't get to practice today but I was wondering if anyone knew what it was like in Lexington....and heard anything about the field condition? Thanks.

Ryan Woody is a senior catcher for South Laurel who hit around .490 with 4 or 5 homeruns........do you all agree with the decision who else do you all think stood out in the 13th region!

Well they're getting to play at college fields and all the final 8 are getting to play at Applebee's just like it is now !!!:thumb:

IMO, I think the semi-state is good but not great.....here is how i would set it up: 1. All region winners (1-16) advance to state tournement 2. Do random draw on those teams 3. Play first round of region at random college facilities (UK, U of L, EKU, WKU) For Example: South Laurel vs. Estill County @UK Danville vs. Lex. Cath @EKU Trinity vs. Anderson @ WKU and so on! 4. Then send the remaining 8 teams to Applebee's Park 5. Championship game goes to championship series in a best of 3 series to crown the state champion !!! Probably wont never happen but good idea huh!!?!!?!!

Should be a good game, I look for Coach Harris to throw everything at B.E.....he is a very smart coach and got a great bunch of talented athlets i look for Adams or Martin to throw and we might see another pitching duel! South Wins 4-2 !:dancingpa
