Tough one for the Cards.

Congratulations to the South Laurel cardinals, I have watched these young men

play baseball for four years what a fine group of young men and they have

won many games, but this was a tough way to go out. Luke Rakestraw is

one of the best shortstops in the state.

I'll give that an echo, I was a junior when these seniors were freshman and they are a talented bunch of hard working athletes. Luke Rakestraw is a fundementally sound shortstop and is the best 0-2 hitter I've ever seen, hes a four year starter that could easilly play D-1 ball somewhere (chat you should be proud). Matt Martin is a great young man that was a 4 year starter for the cardinals and has thrown in the 80's since he was a freshman! Ryan Woody a 3 year starter is a force in the batters box and is a wall behind the plate! And Ricky Bowling is just a freak athlete that can kill the ball. . Matt Peters 3 year letter winner at 1st base sweet swinging lefty. Cody Kirby the best bunter and base runner in the world.

Proud of these boys and what they have accomplished in there careers
