Congrats to DJ. Good fit for him.

If it's grades, I don't see Johnson not qualifying for the NCAA clearinghouse, but getting into Georgetown.
-
Did Bopper play basketball his Freshman or Sophomore year? I remember him coming onto the scene his Junior year and starting for that State Tournament team, but I didn't remember him before that.
-
Kerry Wood averaged 122 pitches per start in his first season with Dusty Baker. Mark Prior averaged 126. It's a tough situation for Dusty.
If Dusty protects Chapman's arm, which it appears he is by using him only in late innings, Reds fans scream for him to start. If Chapman starts, and God forbid, ruins his arm, that's another lost arm to chalk up to Dusty's overusage of his pitchers, joining Wood, Prior, Shawn Estes, and Kirk Rueter.

This win makes Tyler Daugherty 7-2 on the year. Pendleton has some momentum rolling into districts, winning their last 6 games, and 10 of their last 12.

I agree with TOG......you can't just say they are without having #'s to back it up. If that were the case, I have never been beaten so my name should be in the running......What are their stats?
Baseball stats are hard to find. I can't find anything for Chase Mullins, but the fact that he's going to UK to pitch shows that he's pretty good.
I could only find stats for Harrison County through the midpoint of the season. Jordan Martin was 5-0 with 37 K's, 4 BB's, and a 1.62 ERA in 26 IP through 18 games. He beat Chardon (OH), Mason County, Scott, and Nicholas County. He was the winning pitcher his Freshman year two years ago in the State Championship.
-
This was Jordan Martin's first loss of the season. 8 runs on him is a very impressive number. He is a future high D1 pitcher.
-
Anyone watch Harry's Law? Deters sounds like the character Tommy Jefferson.
Yes! I was going to post this, but I couldn't remember Tommy Jefferson's name.
-
Mullins is signed to pitch at UK next year. Jordan Martin has his choice of a lot of D1 offers, as he's only a Junior this year.

Is this worse than spitting on an umpire? Roberto Alomar got five games for that in 1996.

Congrats and good luck to coach Cravens.. I think it was a great move to keep coaches Sowder, Wirth, and Smith. Belcher will be a huge addition as well.
I agree. Pendleton's assistants are very strong coaches.
-
Coach Cravens will meet with the team at 3:30 today. Coach Cravens was a boys basketball assistant or head coach from 1984-1997 at Lincoln County, Silver Grove, and Campbell County. He was the head girls basketball coach at Campbell County from 1997-2011. During this time he compiled a 216-167 record. He won 5 district championships, made 5 Regional Semifinals Appearances, and won one Regional Championship (2003) during his 14-year tenure at Campbell County.
He will keep assistants Jon Wirth, Brent Sowder, and Craig Smith on board. He will also add assistant Keaton Belcher to his staff.
-
Where and when?
From 1984-1997 Cravens was either assistant or head boys basketball coach at Lincoln County, Silver Grove, and Campbell County.

I don't know who will end up getting the job, but if was between Bordas and Stapleton....I would much rather see Stapleton get it IMO..
Stapleton is officially gone to West Jessamine.

I was told today to expect an announcement in the next 24 hours. The storm is over. However, I also had heard we'd have an announcement 10 days ago, so maybe we're just in the eye of the storm.

Senior Jared Rering started for Pendleton in game one, going 2 innings. Sophomore Trevor Turner pitched the next 4 innings, and Freshman Mack Ramsey closed the game out. Freshman Josh Brown threw a complete game for Pendleton in game 2.

Believe me community support will dwindle if Reitz is the new coach. i would think that would be a huge consideration.
There are still a lot of people in the community angry with Mike Reitz.
-
I heard the name Jeremy Miles come up as one who interviewed for this job. Jeremy was Randy McCoy's top assistant at Pikeville and now at UHA.
One of the names I've heard as well.
-
Just wake me up when there's a new head coach. I've heard about six names as the supposed frontrunner in the last three days. I've given up on trying to stay updated.
-
Any word today of an announcement?
Hearing a lot of different things. Nothing official yet though.
-
Decision could be made as soon as this afternoon. Stay tuned.
-
Interviews were held Saturday and Monday I believe.

Brent Jacob threw a complete game 5-hitter for Pendleton County. Harrison County scored all 3 of their runs with two outs in the 3th inning.

Pendleton County might want to think about sacrificing a lamb or something next year.. This is the sixth consecutive year that Pendleton has beaten Nicholas in the regular season, and then lost in the first round of districts to them. There seems to be some kind of curse on Pendleton County baseball.
