Williamstown got a bigger name hire. Coaching experience obviously goes to Happy.
-
With all that has been going on with the Adm at Montgomery Co, I wouldn't want to teach in that system at this time.
Absolutely. Set success aside in that situation. That job's a snake pit.
-
I do know this- I hope whoever the new head coach is does the right thing and keeps the current JV coach, Brent Sowder on board. As far as I know, he'll want the job, and he is deserving. He's compiled a 36-23 record in 3 years as the head JV coach, and he often stayed with players until midnight or later in the gym working on their game. Players could call Coach Sowder at an any hour, and he'd meet them at the gym, or even pick them to put in work. He would be a huge piece to lose if the new coach decided to go a different route.

This will be interesting to watch unfold.
I expect the process to start moving quickly.

How good can this job be, will they ever have a chance to get out of the 10th?
I don't see why they couldn't. They were just in the Regional Finals two years ago.
-
Its not Mason County, Montgomery County or GRC by any stretch, but I would say its a quality job
I would say Pendleton is a much better job than Montgomery. Pendleton beat Montgomery in the Regional Tournament in 2010 and 2011, and Montgomery has never made it out of the 10th if I'm not mistaken. Plus Montgomery obviously has a degree of uncertainty and lack of continuity when it comes to coaches.

#2 Male lost to #6 Lafayette and #3 Bowling Green: #3 Bowling Green lost to #6 Lafayette and Franklin Co. (others receiving votes): #5 Central Hardin lost to #1 Lex Cath and #7 Eastern.
I don't see any of those teams moving much. Looks like the top teams beating the top teams.

Hopefully this can finally be the year that Pendleton County breaks the Nicholas County curse and makes it to the 10th Regional Tournament. Nicholas County has knocked them out in the first round the last 5 years, the last 4 by an average of 2 runs.
-
Pendleton beats District Rival Nicholas County for the second time this year. Junior Tyler Daugherty scattered 7 hits over 5 innings pitched to pick up the win for Pendleton, and Dalton Pope took the loss for Nicholas. Dustin Wanner had a bases-clearing double in the 5th inning to put Pendleton in front. Brent Jacob had three hits and 2 RBI.
These two will likely play again in the first round of 38th District Tournament for the 7th consecutive year.

I would highly doubt Stapleton is a serious contender for the job. And it was said he accepted the West Jessamine job.
I promise you he's a serious contender and hasn't officially accepted the West Jessamine job.
-
Cold feet? It was all over social media two weeks ago.
My guess would be he would still leave for West Jessamine if he didn't get Pendleton's head coaching job. But that's just speculation on my part.
-
I was told Stapleton took a freshman head coach and asst. varsity position at West Jessamine.
Not a done deal. He was offered it, but hasn't officially taken it yet. While certainly on the unexperienced side, he's a very good young coach, and he has a big future in basketball.

Congrats to the very talented and very athletic Mr. Rice.

Not sure when it was actually posted. I just decided to waste a few minutes to see if it was posted. I Was just talking to my buddy about it this weekend and they seemed to think the job description was created for one of the Belcher's. I think they said his mom works in the office at Pendleton?
Keaton Belcher would be a good hire for Pendleton. However, I don't believe he is in the running. Whether that's his choice or someone else's, I don't know. And I think you're thinking of Keaton's aunt. She works in the central office at Pendleton.
-
You can scratch Listerman from that list.
Why do you say that?
-
Congrats to all that were selected on such a high honor.
-
So here is the word I received today. Current assistant coach Jon Wirth is in line to become the new AD at Pendleton County.
The list of names in the running for head coach is narrowed down to- Tony Wise, Jay Bordas, Mike Listerman, current Pendleton freshman assistant coach Chris Stapleton, Campbell County's current freshman coach (Metcalfe?)
-
I'm pretty sure you're more tuned into the Pendleton County program than I am. But having said that, I'd bet the ranch Keaton Belcher is the next AD.
No disagreement here. I'd love to see Keaton get the AD position, and if I had to bet my family ranch, I'd put it on him too.

I know baseball is the toughest of all sports to predict, but with all the success CCH has had this year and as deep as you all say they are, could 2012 bring a second baseball state championship to Park Hills??
I would say this is the best team Northern Kentucky has had since the 2009 Covcath team of Maile, Isler, Darner, and Nutini. They have the talent, especially pitching, to bring a championship to NKY.
-
Which one? What is Keaton doing now? Know he was at EKU helping with the ball team, then last year, wasn't he working with the younger kids at PC?
Very nice young man.
Keaton is actually currently is the JV Girls basketball coach at Ravenwood High School, a high school in Tennessee. I don't think it's anywhere close to a done deal that he'll be hired as Pendleton County's new AD.
-
Congrats. I'm sure his mom is happy. Did he start high school at another local school?
Yes. He went to Pendleton County until the 8th grade. Then he went to Rose Hill, and was one of the many defects from Rose Hill three years ago.
-
6 of the top 8 out of either Lexington or Louisville.
-
Pendleton County had two players sign to continue their basketball careers at KCU last week. 6'3 forward Jared Rering and 6'1 guard Gabe Antrobus both signed with the KCU Knights. Both are great kids on and off the basketball floor. They should excel at KCU.
Antrobus, a long range specialist averaged 14 points per game last year making 77 made three pointers. He also broke the school record with 9 made three's in an overtime win over Desales. Rering averaged 9 points and 7 rebounds per game for Pendleton.
Congrats to both of these young men.
-
He actually signed over a week ago, but I noticed there hasn't been a thread on here for him yet. Ashland's 6'4 forward signed to play for the Black Hawk East Warriors, and Junior College out of Kewanee, Illinois.
Congrats to Corey.
Montgomery County or Williamstown?

I don't mean bigger name in coaching. I just mean bigger name in the same sense as if Williamstown had hired Ramel Bradley. He's a big name because he was a standout at UK, but has no coaching experience at the high school level.
