I'll be surprised if this game is close.

That was brutal. There are GAPING holes in this UK team.
-
I would have taken Henry Clay, even if Derek Willis could play. Without him, Henry Clay by 15.
-
I'm withholding judgement on this Pendleton County team until after their matchup with Scott. If they play Scott close or win, I like them to win this game.

If Pendleton wins this one, it will be won by their second or third scoring option. Mason Monroe will still get 20, but I assume Brad Carr will have a tight gameplan focused on keeping Monroe from single-handedly beating Scott. Someone else must step up for Pendleton County.

Does anyone else think Cauley-Stein might have a higher ceiling than Noel?
Noel has a long way to go, particularly with court awareness both on the offensive and defensive end.
-
Archie Goodwin leads the Cats scoring in the first half with 13. Wiltjer has 11.
Polson has played well off the bench. Willie Cauley-Stein is going to be very, very good.
-
This is really great news. Pittman hasn't given us many reasons to believe he will stay on the right track, but I sincerely hope he does.
-
I'm a little (just a little) worried about Noel's offensive game. He doesn't really seem to have one. He's big, so he'll score if spoon-fed under the basket, but didn't show much in his arsenal tonight outside of put-back dunks and the aforementioned spoon-fed buckets.
I keep reminding myself of Terrence' Jone's awful first scrimmage against Pikeville his Freshman year. He looked totally lost, and he turned out just fine. Hoping for the same for Noel.

Region Finals. Who ya got?
Montgomery County vs. Scott.

Gabe Antrubus and Jared Rerring both are playing at the next level. They will be missed by p county. At being said, I agree they are a top 10 team.
Antrobus is at KCU playing basketball. Rering is not playing.
-
Nicholas County in the top 10, and Pendleton County not is genuinely funny. Pendleton County only lost two starter from last year.
-
Aaron Biddle is the new coach. It was made official sometime last week.
I guess I'm falling behind on my connections. Thanks for the info.

My prediction, with nothing to base it on other than gut feeling, is that Wayne Heringer will be the new coach at Pendleton County.
Heringer was an assistant coach at Pendleton under Doug Wainscott, before both moved to Campbell County. Pendleton County's new Superintendent, Anthony Strong, is the former Superintendent at Campbell County, and he is extremely active in athletics. I believe Heringer was in the running for the Pendleton County job two years ago when Josh Hamm was hired.

Thomas More has also shown interest in Monroe.

Don't put too much stock in summer ball and GRC. Coach tries many combinations and players missing. Some will not even try out/ make team till this fall. ( Example of last year....Taylor Howard)
We start the season out with Covington Catholic no cupcake there. Play Montgomery Co twice and early in the season we will play Madison Central. Dixie Heights on the schedule at the end of Jan. and usually end season with Henry Clay. I see all of these teams being ranked in the state except maybe Cov. Cath. I haven't seen a full schedule yet. When I do I will post it.
Now on how many wins....if coach can get these players to have the heart that last years team had, the Cards could be a dangerous team come tourney time.
I hope everyone knows better than to count out GRC by now. Granted, they've never lost all of their scoring and turned out a whole new lineup from the prior year like they'll have to this year. Wait....

Final from Brooksville.
I am shocked this was so close. Sounds like Bracken played well. Details?
