That was not my point. It was that there was no time scheduled for the game of 1/5, which would leave me to believe that it could have been a possible schedule issue not Latin just not showing up.

Not all of us at Silver Grove feel that this was done intentionally. Knowing Coach Heil and the outstanding person that he is, I am sure that there may be a good reason for the mistake. I did look back at last years schedule and they only played once, so I would think this is a honest mistake by one of the schools. While Cov. Latin may not be a Boone Co., in basketball, I am sure that Coach Heil would honor all games on his schedule and would look forward to playing Silver Grove for a hopefully good contest.

Not at all. Just stating facts. Everyone will have their opinions and that is what this forum is for. I was at the All A game against NCC and on the Ludlow side of the stands last year and heard a very good number of complaining about NCC running up the score?? I think we all can agree that scores can stay somewhat respectable if coaches want them to be. You reference them playing Silver Grove tonight. I looked at the scores from last year, the first game was over a 60 point loss and the second game just over 20. Did Silver Grove get that much better no way!! I would have thought the score should have been the same, Silver Grove will not have the athletes to compete with the Ludlows of the world and I am sure everyone understands that, but some of your other A schools, ie: a Beechwood that have players that run in cycles, those may be schools that may look for a little repay of lopsided scores, but again time will tell. I guess I am an old fashion person that puts too much emphasis on sportsmanship and maybe the game has changed.

50-15, not used to seeing Ludlow on the other side of this score. Could this be a prelude of scores to come or just a fluke??? Either way, is it possible that the lopsided scores of the past may come back to haunt Coach Stamm?? I guess time will tell:idunno:

I am sure that this will stir some good conversation, but here we go. You ask why Campbell has not had success over the past few/many years, well lets go back a few. The decline with Campbell basketball seemed to have happened when they decided to let Coach Sullivan go. Many will disagree with this, but Coach Sullivan did something that had not been done for a very long time, A trip to RUPP. He had the feeder systems in place that kept everyone very interested in the program, he was also a very visible person a many youth games and spoke with the parents. I think that Brossart and NCC both will agree that he may have been too visible at some of the Catholic grade school games, but he DID GET RESULTS!! Now for the first time in the years since Coach Sullivan has left you have a coach that wants to instill disclipline, hard work ethic and cares about his teams very much and things are just not good enough?? Scott Code is a very good coach that has a tremendous love for the game and his players and understands that the season is not a sprint. If the players continue to buy into his system, stop listening to what is being said around the dinner table, and the administration lets this man do his job the results with happen and all will be happy with the results. If my memory is correct this is the start of his 3rd season, so hopefully all of the hard work over the past couple years will start to show and the results will come, but lets give this guy some time!! This is a district that I would say has the best coaching talent in the 10th region. 2 Codes and 1 Carr = 1 tough district. Mike Code and Coach Carr are proof that if you buy into a system results will happen and I can assure both of those coaches can attest to that. Let Coach Code do his job, support him if a Camel fan and if the results do not happen then at the end of the season take a look back and see how all turned out. Because, I can assure that is what all good coaches do and if the season does not turn out as one of success, than that coach will be a much harder critic on himself than any "so called supporters would be". You at Campbell have a very good coach let him do what he is there to do and support him!!

Tibbs played very well! As Scott's guards become more seasoned they should be the front-runner in the District and Region. PC played very hard and should also make some noise as the season goes on and will win some games that most would not expect.

RiverDog, that is a wager you would have lost. Not only played, but coached and as a player if I had gotten in trouble in or outside the school, the school would not have had to worry about any type of suspension because my parents would have taken care of that. As a coach I held the program and players to high standards, so maybe my way of taken care of this would have had a short effect to the team, in the long run it would have been best for the program. I can assure that this young man, while not understanding now, would be back in future years and hopefully respected what was done to him to make him a better person. I have had to do this in the past, and while not a very easy task, it created a understanding with the team of what acceptable and unacceptable actions are. As for no one in Maysville would have every found out and it being swept under the rug.......:confused: I would have to say Mr. Hester would disagree with that statement. It is also ironic that you use Tracey Jones words, while he will use that statement often, you may want to check and see why his child is no longer in Kentucky, similiar situtation but worse. I guess I look at sports in a different light, while it can be the best years of your life, the decisions that are made during those years in the classroom and socially will have a longer more drastic effect. Last time that I checked, those in the NFL, NBA and Major Leagues are far less that those in the adult business world.

So it was not due to injury? If suspended for a violation of team rules than sometimes a one game suspension will do the trick along with numerous sprints. By reading the posts it sounds to be a bit more than just team rules and if so I would agree a one game suspension is not enough. While this young man may be a very good kid that made a mistake, he must realize that he is a senior that should be setting good examples for the underclassmen. This program is in a very young stage and the examples that are set by the players, coaches and administrators regarding a suspension could have very long term effects. Whatever the mistake was I hope that he has learned a valuable lesson and the punishment he was given fit the mistake that was made?

If my memory is correct, Brossart is playing without one of their best players on offense. In reading a previous thread their running back was going to miss the remainder of the season, so with this being the case their offense is bound struggle a bit. As far as your comments about the coaching staff, it looks to me that in less than 2 years they have turned things around and the program is headed in a positive direction. While not very familiar with the program it seems hard to find fault with the progress that the team has made under this staff! I will agree that the coaches in the stands are always much better than the coaches that get paid to do a job on the field:D Good luck to the Mustangs in the playoffs:thumb:

It also takes an administration that will back the coach. You are starting to see some very good coaches think really hard before applying for coaching positions now a days. It is usually the coaches that have the backbone that end up not enjoying their position.

You may want to get more facts before you speak about the Silver Grove "dismissal". Coach Kues chose to walk away from the program that he rebuilt due to a "current member on staff" wanting the position. When you see the new coaching staff you will understand that your statement is very incorrect. Coach K made the promise to see the current soph group at the Grove thru their Senior year, but their are things that you can not change; death, taxes and politics........ and well as much as it hurt him to resign that is what did happen an we in Silver Grove are not very happy:madman: As for the Notre Dame position, I would think that at a different time he would like to go after that position, but watching his daughter play in high school will take up his next 4 years. I know that some will disagree with this but the former NCC girls coach would be a very good choice, but this will also depend if she is ready to step away from watching her kids play.

I would have to disagree that Bev Smith is the only person in the building with Varsity experience. Christie Gries also teaches at Silver Grove and is very well respected in the community, school and by the students. It will be said that she stopped coaching, but that had to do with the lack of interest in the girls program from the student body, not her losing interest for game. Rumor has it that she may also have been interested in the position, but feels that she would not get the support of the administration due to the fact of the way Coach Kues was treated. The replacement of Coach Kues with Bev Smith has been a done deal for a while, so I would look to see her named as soon as July hits according to some in the know, but this could be just rumor????

Most schools put on the KHSAA web-site any coaching openings. If you look, you will see the Silver Grove did not post a coaching opening.\:confused: Tells me the same as the past, inside deal with people that they feel will do a better job and close to the program. Look at the past after Coach K left St. Henry, Brossart win/loss record??? The Grove yet to be determined. You don't win 400 plus games and not be a good coach!!

Just to claify your statement, he was the frosh coach at another school and than became the varsity coach at Brossart? Is this coach still involved in coaching or has he been out of coaching for a while??

Great statement. It will be very important with whom he builds his staff with. Without being from the area, I would think it would be critical to add people from the area to his staff to keep those kids that should stay at Brossart, but are giving thought to NCC.

Not all things are a secret in the 10th. It seems that the info may have been coming from others as you can see by some of the other posts I just chose to pass it on, next time I will have them PM you:lol: As for the previous hirings on the boys side, 2 of the 3 were of Highlands assistants which I would consider some pretty good background and each of those guys have taken the school and program to new levels. As for the Carroll Co assistant, don't know too much about him.

This is exactly my point. I think they were wanting a big hire,but they may have been waiting on an answer and it did not work out. I will disagree in saying that they can not get a big fish. Tom Cramer had a pretty good resume and had some success with the Mustangs, so to say that they could not have got a high profile coach may not be accurate. I would think if they were looking to go the route of an non head coach than this hire would have happened months ago.

I would think that this would be a blockbuster hire due to the length of time that it took to get this coach. Normally when it takes 4 months or more to get in a coach it is usually due to contract renewals and other various moves that create positions to open. I would think that they will release this name soon?? Talking to people in the know, administration had HIGH hopes.:sssh:

Mustang is not the person I was speaking of and I don't see him being very close to the AD. This would be someone after Tom Craemer and not an assistant....... but it may be just rumor?? :idunno: I also agree this is a thread that is losing interest. I do feel very sorry for the girls, they are being put at a big disadvantage and who ever is the next coach will have a big up hill climb.

Rumor has it that a boys coach from the early 90's is interested and is close with the AD at Brossart. Could this be true????
