  1. I heard he had a minor ankle sprain. He played some plays last week but not alot. He'll probably start then they'll play it by ear.
  2. My prediction is Dixie 35 Simon Kenton 29 Should be a really good battle but Dixie has so many Seniors that have matured, they're playing well as a team, and their line has improved so much, they could be too much even for Miles
  3. Dixie needs to not do the same expected plays that the opponents expect year after year after year that the opponents prepare for.
  4. I would rather see Mile's recruiting video than the Highlands player that's been on Cincinnati. com for two weeks on the first page of the NKY prep sports....Someone should have Mile's dad ask cinti.com to put Miles video on there instead of the same Highland's player that's been on there for 2 WEEKS! You couldn't afford to buy that publicity/exposure...and they're giving it away, although it sure looks like favoritism leaving the same video posted....
  5. Most Booster organizations can't afford to buy an entire team ring but the boosters can help buy the mold and have the parents/players pay for the individual ring. The parents could always ask to do a fundraiser if they can't afford it.
  6. Dixie beat Conner, Holmes, Scott and Campbell - they should have beat Cov Cath -lost by two. They could have beat Ryle - they lost by 9 and blew an early lead. If that long bomb TD wasn't called back Haggerty caught, and the extra points had gone in....The momentum shifted in the third quarter and they couldn't catch up. Why isn't Haggerty starting on offense when he can catch a ball like that? Not to take away from anyone out there but just seems like he has great hands. SK beat Dixie soundly, thanks to Miles Simpson almost solely at the start of the season. Boone killed Dixie because of their strong running back. Dixie's line looked great against CC, if they can keep up that momentum, they will be a force to be reckoned with and keep the opposition's offense off their game. Dixie fans were surprized also at the ease of the win. Not to take away anything from Dixie, but it didn't seem like it could have been the same Campbell Co team that had performed so well earler in the season and either CC was protecting their starters, or people were hurt or if they had grade trouble or discipiline issues, that explains it. The win was a great confidence builder but Dixie needs to keep working hard and not get over confident.
  7. Leatherneck - you are correct that Dixie plays Highlands, Beechwood and Cov Cath right out of the gate every year and are starting with usually the most difficult teams they will face during the regular season, so when they hit the teams not as difficult, they win more and do look better. Dixie is in shape at the beginning of the season but do have to "work it out" to see who should play what position and that may take longer than two scrimmage games to experiment. Did anyone go to the Boone Co SK Game? Was Miles Simpson off or was he shut down? SK is pretty much dependant on how Miles plays/performs whether they win or lose. Dixie 21 Boone 17 Dixie wants to win - Boone only beat Conner by 7 and Dixie made the wheels come off Conner when they played.
  8. Nice article in today's paper about Dixie's defense Dixie looked great all around - tackling, offense and defense :dancingpa
  9. Dixie 35 Holmes 21 For some reason, Holmes always plays better AT Holmes which helped with their win last year plus they had unorthodox/lucky plays that fell apart but went their way. Since this years game is at Dixie, Dixie should be able to beat Holmes at Dixie. Holmes did way worse against Highlands than Dixie also. :thumb:
  10. Dixie is ready for a win this week - they are 0-4.
  11. EVERYONE needs to remember the Dixie coaches are the same coaches who beat Trinity, Cov Cath AND Highlands a few years back. There was more player talent depth on the team then plain and simple. There are some talented players at Dixie now, but not enough had Varsity playing time for this season and more players need to be trained. Several of this years starters were hurt last season and out either the entire season or half of it and missed that Varsity playing time. Not saying that the coaches make perfect decisions during games all the time, but not realistic to think these coaches don't know what they're doing when they've coached how many kids over the past x number of years? We need to have faith that Dixie will do much better the second half of the season, and be ready to win next season. (Dixie needs to not give up after playing the toughest teams of their schedule this year - two were state champs.)
