  1. Ballard has played a waaaaaay tougher schedule then KCC. Ballard has played Scott Co,Seneca,Montverde(FL),Hammond(SC),Male,CAL,St.Johns(DC),Holmes,Hop-Twn,Newport Central Catholic,Norcross(GA),Mitchell(TN),&CPA(TN). KCC has played Magoffin Co,Bracken Co.,Breathitt Co.,June Buchanan,Pike Co Central,Hazard,Jenkins,Covington Catholic,North Little Rock(AR),Sagemont(FL),Shadow Mountain(AZ),& Spring Valley(SC).
  2. Just read he dropped 41 points in the championship game of a tourney down in Nashville. Ballard played in the tourney hosted by CPA (Who played in the King of the Bluegrass). If Mr. Basketball was given out today he'd have to get it right?!?! He's put up #'s on everyone!
  3. Perry should be leading in the Mr. Basketball race. He has put up #'s against everyone! Helluva start to his SR year.
  4. PG Jacoby Harris was injured late in the Doss game and didn't play against Wayne Co. He will be out for about 7-10 days.
  5. What's the story from the 1st half? Who's playing well?
  6. Is there somewhere to listen or see this game?
  7. 23-15 O'boro end of the 1st qtr is the last score I've heard.
  8. I know this year Owensboro's best Wide Receiver, who had 100+ yards and 2 TD's in the state title game vs Highlands, transferred from Apollo his Senior year. One of Apollo's better Sophmore football players transferred to OHS too. It happens pretty regularly in Owensboro/Daviess Co. Most of the time it's just regular students that no one even mentions though. But just a couple more examples. Owensboro Catholic got a football transfer from Owensboro. Kid a had a really good season for the Aces at WR. Daviess Co has one of the better Point Guards, I think in the state, who transferred from Owensboro. Apollo has gotten kids from the Owensboro school system too(Eli Wright). Just the way it seems to be now.
  9. Jim Schue I'm surprised Owensboro wasn't running a ton of hi low stuff. The times I' e seen them they have. They usually put Miller on the block and Holman at the free throw line. Holman can turn and pass down to Miller. Shot the free throw line jumper or attack the rim if they double Miller.
  10. It'll be hard for the KHSAA to keep him off the court if Young and his family have really moved to Owensboro. I really expect the young man to be playing in January. The state of KY is finally catching up with the times on this transfer thing. Not saying it's good or bad but other states have been dealing with this for decades.
  11. Miller averaged like 19-20 ppg last year. I think Holman only averaged like 13-14 ppg. If Miller was 6'7-6'8 with the same game and production he would be hearing from a ton of colleges. He has nice touch around the basket and uses his body well to be so big.
  12. I'm surprised this story hasn't gotten more attention. The top Sophmore in the state, and a top 75 recruit by some sources, is about to team up with possibly the top JR in the state in Eli Wright.
  13. Good win for the Red Devils. I've seen some question Owensboro being a top 5 team. I don't know if this answer some of those questions but they at least get another chance to prove they belong on one of the biggest stages in the state.
  14. Anybody know where I can catch the Owensboro vs Bardstown game? Radio or video.
  15. KY has a long history of talented teams(some nationally ranked) that didn't make it out of their region. Off the top of my head University Heights with Lamont Barnes,Isiah Victor,& Harold Swanagan. Ballard with Brandon Bender & the Chiles kid. I believe Paducah Tilghman may have been nationally ranked in the 90's and not made it to the Sweet 16. I'm sure there are others. Trinity will have to fight like heck to make it out of the 7th Region. Don't forget Eastern and Ballard have multiple D1 level talents on their teams. Then once a team gets to the Sweet 16 you have a whole different fight on your hands. KY is one state where 90% of the time you just never know who's going to win it all.
  16. Anybody heard anything about this kid transferring from Ohio Co.?
  17. It's not that Phillips gives more then Harris because Harris will be a better player then Phillips in time. It's just that outside of Harris Owensboro doesn't have another true ball handler. Morrow had a ton of TO's against Warren Central. He does not look comfy handling the ball with length of the court defense being applied. With Phillips back they can swing Harris to the two and essentially have two PG's in the game against athletic pressing teams like Warren Central,Eville Bosse,Bardstown,Hop-twn,BG,etc.
  18. I checked some head to head scores and I'm not so sure the 4th Region is better then the 3rd this year as of 12-13-14. Bowling Green will play in the Owensboro Invitational Tourney over X-mas break so we'll know more.
  19. Owensboro is without their starting PG Arius Phillips. He's not a big scorer but he's a great defender. And he gets them in their sets and his ball handling is needed BAD. Phillips should be back next game. Jacoby Harris is going to be a dynamite PG but he's just a Sophmore. Harris is the only real ball handler on the team with Phillips out.
  20. I haven't seen enough of the state to really put a list out but I will say I think the 2nd Region is too low on your list. Hop-Twn and Henderson alone make that region tough. Henderson murdered Warren Central. And beat Bowling Green too. Warren Central & Bowling Green are probably the front runners in the 4th Region btw.
  21. Owensboro's energy level was terrible yet again in this one. Catholic brought the fight to them and if the Aces were a little bit bigger they would have won this game. Owensboro continues to have TO issues. Bardstown will beat OHS in the King of the Bluegrass if the Red Devils don't come out wanting to prove their worthy of their lofty state ranking.
