Owensboro 69 Owensboro Catholic 59

Featured Replies

My partners with the Homers were out at this one. From what i gather, foul trouble hurt OHS in this one. Ed Carter put together a monster game for the Aces. Dont hold me to it but i think he had 24 points, 11 boards and about 5 blocks. OHS continues to roll through opponents. I cant wait to see how they fair at the King of the Bluegrass.

Owensboro's energy level was terrible yet again in this one. Catholic brought the fight to them and if the Aces were a little bit bigger they would have won this game. Owensboro continues to have TO issues. Bardstown will beat OHS in the King of the Bluegrass if the Red Devils don't come out wanting to prove their worthy of their lofty state ranking.

How are the guards looking for Owensboro?

Owensboro is without their starting PG Arius Phillips. He's not a big scorer but he's a great defender. And he gets them in their sets and his ball handling is needed BAD. Phillips should be back next game. Jacoby Harris is going to be a dynamite PG but he's just a Sophmore. Harris is the only real ball handler on the team with Phillips out.

Harris won MVP of their game at Marshall County last weekend & Marrow had 27 last night. Sanford had 18 in a game last week vs Daviess County. They have all looked pretty good at times. Its just a matter of them putting it all together. While some say Phillips is their starting PG, and he was 1 year ago, im not sure he gives the Devils more than Harris does.

It's not that Phillips gives more then Harris because Harris will be a better player then Phillips in time. It's just that outside of Harris Owensboro doesn't have another true ball handler. Morrow had a ton of TO's against Warren Central. He does not look comfy handling the ball with length of the court defense being applied. With Phillips back they can swing Harris to the two and essentially have two PG's in the game against athletic pressing teams like Warren Central,Eville Bosse,Bardstown,Hop-twn,BG,etc.
