  1. I find it hard to take a team seriously that's as terrible on the road as the Brewers.
  2. Johnny Cueto has a 1.77 ERA and has 10 quality starts out of 11 starts. Their record when he takes the hill is 6-5. Ouch.
  3. Clyde, in case you didn't know the offense is fine because they have more runs scored than the Cardinals.
  4. Agreed and the Brewers could put some distance between themselves and the Reds this week
  5. That was before yesterday's 7 spot against their number 5 starter.
  6. . They're not do or die, but this can be a week they die. It's really hard to pass 3 teams. If they fall back more than 5 games and they're in 4th after this week it will take a great post all star break run just to be in a race.
  7. Luckily they play in the Central. As frustrating as this team has been if Masset didn't have a terrible second week of the season and they didn't blow a huge 8th inning lead against the Dodgers they'd be in first. No matter whats happened to this point this week is huge.
  8. I honestly don't know how many of those games did they score 3. It's pretty hard tom win scoring 2 or less. You are ignoring my points though that the pitching should have struggled with the injuries they've had. The offense has ben awfully healthy. Also they play in a park that favors offense. If they played in the West I'd be more inclined to be with you. Also they have 3 guys in the top 30 and another in the top 40 as far as quality start percentage. I would guess they aren't as good in those games as they were last year. I've said all along pitching is and was an issue but the offense has been just as much to blame since that Pirates series.
  9. So we're admitting the offense has been average or below average 45 times out of 84 games even though they play in a park that historically favors offense in a big way? I expected the pitching to struggle when both Cueto and Bailey were out. Even though Bailey missed time again it is my belief that the pitching has been what you would expect after they returned. I would love to know the breakdown of 3 or 4 runs or less since the Pirates sweep of the two gamer in Cincy before the disasterous road trip too. And in all honesty I didn't expect them to win a bunch of pitching duels coming into the year. They dont have a dominating staff. They have good pitchers not great although Cueto may be making the leap. Your stats are backingup my point. This team needs to score 5 runs more. It would help if Janish wasn't atrocious. I would guess their winning percentage is far less tis year when they get a quality start than what it was las year, but I'm guessing.
  10. NL West skews the numbers some for the D-Backs a bit wouldn't you say? The Cards aren't that good either. That isn't the point though. People wanted to blame the Reds struggles solely on the pitching earlier in the year and clearly that isn't and wasn't the case.
  11. The umps get them again. Bailey once again gets a bad break and struggles that inning mightily. Two games in a row he's done that.
  12. The staff isn't supposed to be stellar. It isn't the Phillies. They need above average pitching and they've for the most part had that after Cueto came back. I love people still touting year long offensive numbers. Far too many times they score 3 or less. The Yankees series last week is a perfect example of what you get with this offense. 2 terrible games and a 10 run outburst so the series numbers are good, but the o wasn't good that series.
  13. I agree, but there were people a couple weeks ago claiming the offense isn't an issue. Clearly they've scored runs this year. People fail to realize how often they don't score very much though. This team isn't built to do dominate you with their arms. They're built to get quality starts to decent starts and outscore you.
  14. The one where they went 3-3, the pitchers didn't hit, they scored 4 or less half the time, and only scored above 5 once? Did I mention the pitchers never batted? Why doesn't that help the argument?
  15. Last 8 home games the offense has scored 2 runs or less 6 times, 3 once and 10. Is the offense still not an issue?
  16. That I agree with, but it's not going away so it should be added to the NL ASAP.
  17. Cincy Doom 95 has got their bid to Nationals!! They won the Ohio ASA states this past weekend in Findlay Ohio. They finished 1st out of 57 to earn the birth. Can't wait to make it to Chattanooga, they have some of the nicest softball fields in the country and should be a great time.
  18. Who went to a good situation? If he leaves it will be for the Knicks or Heat IMO. A lot of people could win there.
  19. With the teams they have coming up winning 10 of 13 would be great. Especially if they can go 6-1 or 7-0 against the Cards and Brewers. I think 3-10 is more likely than 10-3 though. I hope I'm wrong.
  20. Everything you would have said needed to happen at the beginning of the season in order for the Reds to be the same or better hasn't happened. The pitching hasn't been healthy. Rolen and Gomes didn't match last years production. Votto hasn't remained the same or gotten better. Bruce or Stubbs haven't made the leap outside of one month for Bruce. There has been no answer at SS. All in all being .500 isn't terrible for all of that. Getting to 90 wins without some luck or a big move is pretty unlikely. Even making a move or two probably isn't enough.
  21. His main point in that argument was no matter what Arredondo is going to allow the other team to add to their lead and he's doing it in close games. He also gave up the walkoff Friday. So EZ was fairly accurate.
  22. Derek Lee 4 home runs all year before the Reds get to town. 6 now.
  23. It wasn't me, but it's important to expand almost all leads in a game IMO.
  24. Votto with a 3 run bomb. Hopefully he catches fire.
