If he wasn't drinking like he's claiming this could start looking bad for the police. I'm more inclined to believe the police still, but he was falsely hand cuffed and detained in Cincy before.
It's not as much living and dying that I have the issue with today. It's (as you mentioned yesterday) that he died with him today after using him yesterday with a 5 run lead. That's absurd. He had thrown over 50 pitches in two days giving up 4 runs and only recording 5 outs. Massett had thrown 18 pitches the last two days.
For the offense is good folks. 3 out of 7 games on the trip they scored 3 or less. Yesterday it took extra innings to get above 3 and another game they scored their 4th run in the top of the 9th to lose by 1.
Great start for Renteria. Swings and misses on a hit and run getting Stubbs thrown out stealing beforeba Votto HR. Then on D makes an error on a routine play.
How do we have any idea what Cairo would have done? They were obviously concerned with Stubbs on. More than likely Cairo would have seen a lot of fastballs.
Assuming he hit the same ball (crazy assumption) Weeks would have been in a totally different spot on the field.
That's what killed me. If Stubbs stays put the only way Votto doesn't get a chance was a double play. With him running Votto had a few chances not to get a shot. It was stupid. The Dusty supporters aren't quite as loud as they were, but there were quite a few that hated him even though they were winning last year.
Homer walking the pitcher on 4 pitches when he was trying to bunt was really bad. He's got some mental issue or issues that cost him every game.
Attempting to steal with Stubbs in the 9th inning was absurdly dumb. They just aren't that good. They could be, but they dont have it this year for some reason. I think its been close to 3 weeks since they've won back to back games.
