  1. Has the IRS said it was taxable yet?
  2. I have no problem with how the young pitchers are handled by Dusty. I think Chapman was over used after he initially took some time off after being over used, but for the most part the young guys have been babied.
  3. Peyton Manning, the QB who James Harrison said Big Ben is trying to emulate, threw 12 INTs in his own territory last year; Ben threw three. Schefter's tweet:
  4. I think he's going to make over $250,000 when everything is said and done. The Yankees could have paid him under the table already. http://espn.go.com/new-york/mlb/story/_/id/6765849/companies-line-help-new-york-yankees-fan-christian-lopez
  5. Who cares what he said about Goddell? How will his teammates react to him throwing them under the bus when he had 1 tackle in the Super Bowl?
  6. I have a 2 and a half year old that I feel behaves very well in public and I am totally on board with this decision. It makes me crazily nervous that my son acting up could drive people nuts when they are trying to enjoy lunch or dinner out. We don't go out very often, but if we did and there was a place we liked with this rule we would understand and go somewhere else.
  7. It isn't moving him out of his role to let someone else pitch one day because your closer is tired from throwing 50+ pitches the last two days. I have no problem whatsoever with Cordero being the closer. The issue is why use him Saturday up 5? Or if you do pointlessly use him Saturday why go back to his tired arm Sunday when other options were available?
  8. So you're willing to say if it was played out a double play could have happened, but not willing to say Cairo could have reached base to give them two on and one out? It was a dumb move to get caught stealing making it more likely that Votto A.) didn't get an at bat or B.) got an at bat with a guy on second so he was walked. I would have let it play out rather than getting thrown out by 5 feet attempting to steal on an 0-1 count when most thought a pitch out was coming. This is a thread for opinions about bad Dusty decisions. Get out of it if you don't like secong guessing questionable decisions. We can't talk about decisions BEFORE they happen on here can we?
  9. Tough assignment fully healthy. Tougher with an injured neck. I heard from a friend that he didn't see Pac Man have one drink, but my buddy wasn't there that long.
  10. That will be discussed before there is an agreement and football starts back up. So will just how much power the commish has IMO.
  11. You said he was asked to replace Polanco. I watched the Braves game Saturday on Fox and they said Rolen replaced Chipper who was the players vote because he was the next highest available player from the players vote. The announcers specifically mentioned that Ramirez deserved it and one of the reporters said Bochy didn't get to replace a players vote and that they go next highest players vote. They explained the manager repalces fans picks and his picks. All in all it isn't a big deal, but that was the explanation given during the game.
  12. As mentioned earlier by someone else I don't know one person that has been to another race that had major traffic issues.
  13. They get it more because they go out and sign guys that have multiple arrests and then they get arrested again. The reason like you said is b/c brown is so cheap. He would rather take the talented trouble makers for cheap than sign big time free agent high character guys. Also, the big time free agent high charchter guys don't want to play for Brown.
  14. I think you have the facts wrong. I thought they held him because an Adam Jones had a warrant out for his arrest. Either way the chief thought somehow or another the officer made a mistake and issued an apology. As far as this case if his side of the story is accurate it makes it look like the police have it out for Pac Man. I am giving the benefit of the doubt to the police still, but they better hope they have it right.
  15. Yes it's plausible. If he was on second however it was far more likely. Even in your sitaution second would have been given freely to Stubbs they wouldn't have risked an out.
  16. Was it him? Did the Chief issue an apology? Was he arrested? Also, I said I was siding with the police here. If he wasn't drinking like he and his agent claim, he supposedly asked for a breathalizer but wasn't allowed to take the test they have problems. According to his agent witnesses are backing his side of the story. We shall see.
  17. Either way it's coaching. Dusty did however instantly say he made that decision.
  18. I would take my chances that he didn't hit into a double play, but you are right that was a possibilty. My point that you are ignoring, probably because I make too much sense, is even if he makes it the most likely scenario was Votto would have had the bat taken out of his hands. People who think managers can't make mistakes are better.
  19. Possibly, but even guys that have green lights have to know the situation and have to be coached on what to do in certain situations. ie...Down 1, 1 out, Votto on deck do not get caught stealing. Even if he was safe more than likely Votto doens't get a swing unless Cairo would have reached safely. Either way it goes to the manager in some way or another.
  20. It doesn't happen often. You can fall back on that weak excuse but closers are rarely put into games with a 5 run lead unless they need work. Coco threw 31 pitches the night before. He didn't need work. It wasn't only going on the wrong pitch it was going at all and making it far more likely for Votto not to get a chance in a game they were down 1. Getting caught just made it worse. I don't care what the numbers say they had a meeting then threw a pitch out. He was in a bad spot because he was tired because he threw over 50 pitches in the previous 40 hours. Coco has been great this year. He had a bad week. It happens. I'm not mad about him. He shouldn't have gone Saturday and since he did someone else should have gone yesterday. My bad. I took it down before you clicked it. Of course he makes good decisions. Everyone does. He makes a lot of terrible decisions. A lot.
  21. Show me any other manager this year that sent their closer into the game with a 5 run lead when he pitched over 30 pitches the night before. It's even worse that they had a game the next day. Dusty said after the game that he sent him. The question was specifically asked did he go on his own or did you send him. "No I sent him that's why it's called stealing" Coco was in a bad spot yesterday and he was put there by his manager.
  22. They do not get credit for cutting Reed because of being arrested. They kept him after the arrests. They cut him after he started sucking and whining about the field.
  23. The guy that used an over used pitcher when he had healthy alternatives. Or the guy that caused the closer to be over used by pitching him with a 5 run lead the day after being lit up like a christmas tree while throwing 31 pitches. By the way that guy is the same guy. He also earlier in the series had Stubbs get caught stealing on a pitchout down a run the pitch after the entire infield and a coach had a meeting at the mound to discuss a pitchout. If not for Weeks being a terrible defender that would have also taken the bat out of Votto's hands in the 9th. That Votto guy is pretty good. I'm pretty sure you do everything you can to get him swings down a run in the 9th. Not jeopardize his getting an AB or being walked if he does get an AB.
