That is exactly what it is. A rumor!!!! She absolutely loves Walton Verona. She does miss her friends and teachers, but keeps in touch with them by phone or church. She is playing well and attending some post camps this summer (always room for improvement). She has excelled academically, played great in the softball season (2 homeruns and caught Varsity as a 7th grader) and is looking forward to the basketball season.

Walton over Trimble 5-3 in 8 innings Walton over Eminence 19-2 in 3 innings Walton over Williamstown 14-13 in 12 innings 7th Grader Courtney Sandlin hits (over the fence) homerun and Ginn has two homeruns off of errors.

You are exactly right! WV needs someone who will take a stand and let it be known that the best players will be on the floor regardless of their grade. As it was said before a coach could possibly start all younger players next year.

Those are the stats in which I was referring to. Thank you, it is nice to hear someone else's thoughts.

I guess my concern is with the younger players that out-play and out-score the older girls on the team, but they will not receive an award for their hard work. If you have stats to back your decision then parents should not have anything to say.

That is a good point! What are your thoughts about best defensive award, most improved, most hustle - awards of that nature?

How does everyone feel about having teammates choose the awards for the banquet? I feel the coaching staff should choose these awards based on player stats. What are some other thoughts?

"These young talented players will not do squat with out quality leadership at the JV and Varsity level." It is my understanding that the younger players (7th and 8th grade) play together after the season and during the summer. The continuation of playing will improve their skills and make them better players for the school team. Summer ball is where it all happens. While it is necessary to have leadership, these young girls have so much talent that they will win ballgames.

Walton Verona finished their Freshman season last night and I was told they were undefeated. I am not sure what their record was, but that is a great accomplishment considering there were only two freshman on the team.

She is awesome!! You know when she comes up to bat that she will get on base.
