I wonder how many of our posters actually watched the whole game that night??? I remember watching on t.v. and listening to Cawood. When they had trimmed the lead to around 20, I remember Cawood saying "The Cats are playing like they got a little fire in their bellies." I thought "yeah right." As a teenager I somehow forgot that Cawood had seen more games from courtside than most of us will see on t.v.

Small school, small gym. I'm sure East and West Carter would love to alternate every year. I say that mainly because they have complained as much. My advice would be, sell out your gyms every night and maybe someone will take notice..... 500 fans for the battle of Carter county says it all. Don't begrudge Elliott and Morgan because they have smaller gyms. At least they have in their sparsely populated counties loyal fans who will come and watch them play!!

If Chris Harrison, Jody Thompson, Todd Tackett, etc. can play for UK, Landon can also.
-
I agree with them being hard to find on t.v. professor. However, some of the real classic Looney Toones cartoons are available on dvds of 4 hour duration at Target.

I had thought about starting a thread on fav. Looney Toones characters before. Needless, to say..... Looney Toones is my favorite

This has to be the worst season Ashland has had in several years.

Just saw on the news where Mason Co schools were closed tomorrow....any word on Elliott Co and what the conditions are there?
It's not doing much here, as of now.
-
I think East was 4,5, or maybe 6 and 0 when they played.
-
Yeah, I was gonna say, both were unbeaten when they met
-
Who Elliott??
-
It was less than a month, around Dec. 16, 17 somewhere around there. If memory serves me.
-
Chris is easily the most underrated player in this region. He never stops on defense. And if they back off of him he can knock it down. Doesn't shoot enough, IMO
-
Did you see Elliott dismantle East at home?? If they are the #2, it needs to be by a wider margin.
-
Elliott gambles way to much on defense, that is why disciplined teams will eat their press alive and shoot layups(COVCATH). The Knipp kid in the middle is a liability on defense, he just stands behind his man on the block, never tries to front. The good teams will exploit this weakness on Elliott. Fleming Co. played well for 25-26 minutes. The Panthers shot 54% from the field as oppossed to 48% for Elliott. The Panthers also outrebounded Elliott 23-19. The end result was to many turnovers by the Panthers. I think they had 35 for the game as oppossed to 19 for Elliott. Elliott has 3 solid players in the Faulkner twins and Ferguson. Ferguson might be the best jump shooter in the state, but make him put it on the floor to beat you. Do not see anyone beating Elliott in the 16th. I cant wait to see them and Mason play, it should be a dandy.
Finally someone who knows why CovCath beat us, without talking about all that "Lockdown Defense" non sense. And your right, IMO those three could more than likely walk into any high school (Mason included) and start.

Understand. One twist of the ankle or go down wrong then you'll regret that decision for along time. :fight:
I'd say there are 8 to 10 ankles on this team that are just as important than TK's
-
As far as the comparisons between him and the Faulkners or Ferguson when they were his age, it is simply not a fair comparison
-
I understand, but I've always been under the impression that if you start JV you aren't allowed to start varsity. You could bring him off the bench after the first wissle but wouldn't Maynard (who would probably start insted) lose confidence? Maybe this isn't a true rule, but what I've always heard.
They faired pretty good last season with John Morgan starting. All I'm saying is, he's a very talented young man. But to watch him last season play with confidence and effort is completely different than watching him this season. And, IMO its because he isn't getting the looks on offense
-
I believe that Et Faulkner started on the varsity team as an 8th grader! Then the following year, Et and Ev both were in the starting lineup.
They had much more experience by that time than Knipp does now. Plus your talking about a 6' 7' Freshman who grew 2 inches this past summer. Let's not even compare the three, because it isn't a fair comparison.
-
Yeah, I'm not picking on him. I just think him being a freshman, and only playing one year of JV ball, as an eighth grader, He could have really used another year on the Jv. To work on a few things, as well as to keep his confidence up with getting more shots. While still getting quality minutes on the varsity.
A Very Interesting Rumor About BCG...

If he wants to go, let him go. This is Kentucky. The program makes the coach, the coach doesn't make the program.
