But they have not played them, so we will not know until they do.
No, I don't know that they would. Its just my opinion
-
Well let me make an amendment to my previous statement. Raceland, who you have above them would IMO give them trouble.
-
Yes, they were beaten soundly by Bath, and I have no problem with you putting them at 10. I'm just saying that head to head I think they would not have much trouble beating #'s 6 thru 9.
-
I would have Rose Hill around #6 I know their record isn't spectactular, but they have played some good competition. IMO they have really over scheduled

For what it's worth, and I'm not defending coach Mays. Because personally I don't care for him, he has always played for the most part 7 or 8 kids. It wasn't an issue when they were getting their teeth kicked in. But know it's a big deal?? Give it a rest people. And since this is a Mason County thread congrats to the Royals and their fans

This game is always a grudge match, and this season should be no exception. I think West is another year away from being a very solid team. That being said I'll take EC by around 10

More people from Kentucky, outside of Kentucky, Lexington, Louisville, Northern Kentucky and anywhere else needs to know about Elliott County Basketball this season and next season to come!!!! They may not be #1 in the state, but they are definitely a SOLID top 10 team. They can beat you with more than one, two, or even three players. They easily go six deep with Div 1 level type players and have the ability to beat anyone in the state on any given night, and I will not argue that they can't be beaten themselves (as evidence in 5/3 tourney) in any given game, but everyone needs to research the players on this team, not the results of their games to critic where they should actually be in Litkenhouse rankings.
I would agree with this statement. And I'll go one step farther, even though I know I'll take a beating. Elliott has three boys, IMO that would more than likely be starting at any high school in Ky. including Mason.

Elliott County by at least 30 and maybe a lot more. They'll use the loss as a positive as well as try to score a whole bunch to make up for the hit in PPG taken as a result of the low scoring game against CCH.
Yes, EC will probably use the loss as a positive, and very likely will when big. But anyone that knows any of those kids know that they are not ego driven and aren't concerned about the teams ppg average. They are concerned about winning whether they score 100 and win by 40 or score 40 and win by 2.

Ashland by 5. But I think Fairview is the better team, and ultimately the winner of the 64th district.

Yes, but this game will be at LCA, and you are right about there being more to the game than scoring points. And I'm sure the other kids at RH give an allout effort. But at the end of the game the team that has the most points.....

Does getting rid of a loyal assistant and great coach to make room for your son on the bench really constitute a "class act"?
Not in my book. But I'm sure the CovCath drum beaters will have a different view on this

Euton and Jackson are both good ballplayers unfortunately for them its a five on five game. LCA by 10

Runyon at Paintsville has done alot at a class A school

Good point. I would imagine this situation has already occured more than once in the past. I wonder if there is a possible 16th region connection although I realize this is a hypothetical situation??
I would say you are spot on in your assumption to this being connected to the 16th.

First welcome to BGP's
I was at the game tonight, and I watched EC play all three games at LexCath. The only difference in tonights game was the "D" of CovCath compared to the other games. Think what you want to, but the "D" of CovCath and CovCath ability to not turn over the ball to EC for easy baskets, was the difference tonight. Do you really think that if you were playing one of the teams you put up 100 on from the 16th you would have been so off in your shooting? Come on sir, is it so tough to say you got beat by a very good team tonight, who plays a very tough brand of "D" night after night, and that just might had a part in your off night shooting? Look at the quality of the teams CovCath has played so far, and look at how few points they have given up to them.
CovCath "D" has given up the following.....
LexCath scored 57 in a loss
St. Henry scored 63 in a loss
Mason scored 66 in a win over CovCath at the Fieldhouse
Conner 53 in a loss
Ryle scored 53 in a loss
Cin Oak Hills 33 in a loss BTW per MaxPreps they are a top 25 Ohio team
Lafayette scored 65 in a loss in OT
Lou St. X scored 39 in a loss
Franklin Co. scored 51 in a loss
Elliott Co scored 62 in a loss
So CovCath has given up an average of 54.2 points per game against I might add one of the toughest schedule in the Commonwealth, but it had of course no effect on Elliott. Okay believe what you want but, don't try selling it to knowledgeable basketball fans.....
No, I'm not taking anything away from covcath they have a fine team and I wish them well. It was their ability to break the EC press and attack the basket with success after doing so along with their physical defense that won the ball game for them. But to say that EC didn't miss alot of open shots sir is simply not true. And fyi, I myself am a knowledgable basketball fan

8 players played quality minutes tonight, the shots just didnt fall for Elliott County.
Exactly. Anyone that attented this game can attest that it was not the "vaunted" CovCath defense. EC had lots of open looks, some nights the shots just don't fall

Yeah, thats kinda were I was going with my over scheduling comment, they have 2 kids that can probably compete with anyone, but other than that they are kinda weak
