In the Big Ten/SEC comparison thread I said OSU would lose 3 to 5 this season in the SEC. Seeing as how LSU lost two, and was clearly the better team. Would any Big Ten fans now like to call me out as you did before the title game??????
-
And I'm going to say that you that you should thank your lucky stars that OSU is not in the SEC. OSU in the SEC this year would have meant a middle of the pack finish at best. OSU goes down this year and last as the title pretenders not contenders and it would be a shame if they wind up at #2 in the polls after getting man handled in this game and playing a schedule that is oh so weak
Probably the truest statement (Big Ten Fans, The truth is the truth) I've seen on BGP

Well, at least they can beat Michigan. Plus, I think they give a good beating to several in state schools!!
-
I think there was something wrong with t.v. Any time LSU had the ball, I was seeing a giant red seive. Did anyone else notice this, or is it time I got a new t.v.??????
-
And you need to take your teams beating like a man
-
I just seen on ESPN, LSU scored another touchdown!

I can't believe this is even a thread. What's OSU's record in the bowls vs the SEC like 0-8 or something? This thread is a no brainer.
It's 0-9 now!! As far as this thread. Some of these posters are just blind with Big 10 loyalty. They might one day come around.

On the bright side maybe the media will give other teams a little more love. And we won't have to watch an OSU team with a trumped up record against a weak schedule get soundly thrashed every year in the title game
-
Once again, the bands "script Ohio" is the highlight of the game for OSU. GO Suckeyes!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
How about them Suckeyes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, Since I'm talking about Bowl wins Michigan is now 19 - 20 overall. with a 7 - 3 record against the SEC. Sooooooooo, By my math Thats OSU and Michigan 7, SEC 11, And as far as the Carr situation, I'm sure he was loved by his players. And last time I checked that was who was on the field. And unless Ginn was gonna play defense I really don't think you can even bring that up.

Based on what I now see of Gore and Kerry.
FWIW I'm much better off today then I was when Clinton was in office and I was a voting tax paying adult then so I have some frame of reference.
Same here.

Taking the chance of being ridiculed mercilessly
Steel Magnolias
The scene after Shelby's funeral where Sally Field is is mad at the whole world and venting her hurt to her friends. It comes to an abrupt end however, when Sally Field says she just wants to hit something and Olympia Dukakis grabs Shirley MacLaine and tells her to "here hit Ouiser", Ouiser of course being MacLaine's character. You go from tears to laughter in seconds.
Lol, we can both be ridiculed... I'll throw Beaches into the discussion. Even though it is very much a chic flick.

First, let me say that I don't like OSU. But I think they win this game easier than what most people think. But I'm praying it's a repeat of last season. Anyways, I'll say OSU 35, LSU 24.

Fine, what about Michigan's sparkling record against the SEC in bowl games? How is that for a comparison of conferences? You can manipulate stats any way you see fit.......but it always cuts both ways.
Personally, I think both are among the elite college football conferences year in and year out. Neither is "weak", both are extremely competitive conferences.
If you really think OSU would lose 3-5 games or UM wouldn't make a bowl in the SEC, well, wow..........that's all I can say. UF gets a pass on being handled by UM in the bowl? Imagine that. Somehow, I'd be willing to bet that OSU doesn't get said pass on last years NC game.
You really are ridiculous. To say that the Big 10s top 2 teams (OSU and UM) couldn't compete in the SEC is crazy. As I have said many times already, the SEC is much deeper and is the better overall conference, but the top 2 teams from the Big 10 would be near the top year in and year out.I never stated anywhere that I didn't think they could compete. This thread is about the conferences. I in my opinion think the SEC is the superior conference.
-
And as far as OSU losing 3 to 5, look at there schedule. They played 3 ranked teams. The highest being Purdue, #20 at the time of the game. Of course they did manage to get past in state powers Akron, Kent St., and Youngstown St.

Yes, Michigan in their 18-20 bowl record has faired excellent against SEC competition. And, If you will look at my original post I didn't say that wouldnt' make it to a bowl, I said might not. And as far as OSU's humiliation last season. If it had been the least bit close, and Florida had a beloved coach retiring after the game. Yeah, I coulda give them a pass.
-
I was not trying to stat facts in my original post. It was my opinion, plain and simple.
-
Look at my post.. I didn't say every year. I said this season. And as far as bowl records. I'll take the SEC's all time record of 179-172. And I'll let you have the Big Tens 115-148.
-
Those records were compiled in the Big 10 so they really don't mean nothing in a comparison of conferences. How about the 0 for 8 bowl record against SEC teams in bowl games if you want to compare conferences?
-
I'm an SEC fan, but these statements are a little bold. Wisconsin has a very good team, Penn St. is good, Purdue is usually good, Illinois is good..........and believe it or not, Ohio St. & Michigan would be fighting for the SEC title year in and year out if they were in the conference.
If Michigan would not get to a bowl if they played in the SEC, what does that say about Florida?
It would not surprise me to see you eating a lot of crow Tuesday.
I have no problem eating crow. All these threads are is a collection of peoples opinions. I stated what was/is my opinion and if OSU beats LSU. That does not prove/disprove anything. They were fortunate to only lose twice this year. As for Florida I'll give them a little pass because of it being Carr's last game.

I couldn't agree more. I stated In the Big Ten/ SEC comparison thread that OSU, (THE SUCKEYES) would lose 3 to 5 in the SEC this season, and Big Ten fans came out of the brush to tell me I was stupid.............. Well a two loss and two time narrow escapee from the SEC beat the best team in the Big Ten easily, once again....Sooooooooooooooo, would anyone like to tell me again how there is no way possible this OSU team loses 3 to 5 in the SEC??
