Bonner had 4 field goals and 4 rebounds and made 8 free throws. He wasn't exactly dominating inside like you seem to remember. I remember Rose Hill doubling on him several times but when they did a whistle blew. If you think that they wouldn't have been whistled for the same fouls just because they were in a zone .............................. #10 and #3 combined to go 0 for 3. Once again when the bigs were doubled Rose Hill hit shots. They were 8 for 20 behind the arc, a good percentage. Not good enough to overcome a 27 free throw differnce. I just think that the 16th region is the "no block shot region".

RH shot 20 threes (5 or so at the end of the game), Ashland shot 16. Rose Hill had 8 offensive rebounds, Ashland had 4. Going to the basket doesn't necessary result in more free throws.

Maybe so but it is easy to look back and say that. I thought there were more than one block shot call that I would have questioned, in particular the one on Kennedy in the 3rd quarter. For the record the old referee didn't make that call. I just did see enough of a difference in how the teams played for one to have 24 fouls and shot 10 ft's and the other to only have 11 fouls and shoot 37 ft's. I mean it would seem to me that one team would almost have to be trying to foul for that to happen and that wasn't the case. I do think RH fouled 3 times in the last 30 seconds or so but take those out and it is still 31 to 10 on free throws. Nearly impossible.

If old shooter is correct and he only made one call against the Tomcats tonight then that is, well, odd. However, I think he is shouldering the blame and is taking all the shots but the other two officials didn't help you guys much either. To me this one is tough to enjoy.

Just for the record Ashland averaged 20 free throw attempts per game going into this contest. I have to agree that it is difficult to get stops when a team shoots free throws on every possession. As for a zone if Rose Hill goes zone and Ashland hits a couple of threes then there would be other second guessing. Ashland didn't have an answer for Terry he scored at will but to me in fairness Rose Hill never got a call when they went to the basket. If I remember correctly Ashland got 3 quick call early in the game one each on Skaggs, Delaney, and Johnson and then only 8 more fouls for the remaining 29 miniutes or so. Really strange.

That means Ashland shot 15 in the first half which is just about 1 a miniute. I guess when you think about it 37 ft's in 32 miniutes is more than one a miniute.

I agree that a stop would have been huge for the Hill but I really felt like the officials wouldn't let them block shots. The third foul on Kennedy was awful and it resulted in two Tomcat points rather that a clean block. I think officials are blamed too much but it is easy to understand why Rose Hill supporters are upset. 37 to 10 on free throws and 24 to 11 in total fouls, difficult to overcome. Like I said in my origional post I have never seen that big a difference in my entire life and that's quite sometime.

Foul trouble brother, foul trouble. Kennedy was saddled with fould trouble early in each half. Bush #10 was in foul trouble fairly early, Gregg had 1st half foul trouble. With that said I think Gambill played a ton of miniutes as did Terry. Fortunately for Ashland Bonner didn't pick up a foul until midway through the 4th quarter.

All I can say is wow! I have never seen a game with such a wide margin in fouls and free throw shooting. I got a copy of the official Ashland stat sheet and Rose Hill shot a higher percentage from both 2 point range and 3 point range. Out rebounded Ashland 28 - 22, had 4 more offensive rebounds and hit 4 more threes. I always cheer for Ashland but I have to say that I have never witnessed anything like this. I'm not sure I really believe what I witnessed.

Let's see Rose Hill beats Greenup without Gregg and goes on the road and beats West decisively. Should make for an interesting first round matchup with Ashland.

The 96 team was good but not nearly as talented at the 77 team. The 96 team made a nice run at Rupp but was not a favorite going into the tournament and wasn't the favorite to win the 16th region. I still say Faulkner could coach with Patterson.

Patterson was a great coach but I really believe that Ethan Faulkner would hold his own.

I think Fairview is better than Bath. Rowan's win over Ashland is considered an upset by most everyone. I don't know which is stronger and I'm certainly not as sure as you are.

After watching Rose Hill play this year the best thing that Barber could have done is transfer. Sitting the bench at Scott Co. is free.

Having seen both play I just don't see how Fairview is going to match up with the Royals. Fairview doesn't have an answer for Terry.
