  1. Why do I hear the Moody Blues in the background?
  2. Absolutely. I was used to maneuvering our 1968 International Loadstar 1600 flatbed into tight spaces on the farm, so that barge was a breeze.
  3. I am reading these "Reacher" books in character chronological order, not publication order, so "The Enemy" was the first book read in this run. I am currently almost though ...
  4. Since my last posting in this thread, June 13, I've gone though ...
  5. When I was in my early 20's, the beach. There is nothing like spending the day on the beach with literally thousands of bikini clad angels playing volleyball and frolicking in the sand and waves. Now, all that sounds like too much work, I hate having sand in places where sand normally would not be, and I worry about a bunch of Green Peace volunteers trying to roll me into the water, so I prefer pools.
  6. With the Sear's catalog, you just grab to the next page.
  7. Testing the players before letting them in the facilities initially and not testing them every time they enter the facilities prevents nothing. If they are not isolating the players, coaches, and staff from the general public, testing is like peeing in the wind and expecting to not get wet.
  8. Some Florida bars and restaurants have temporarily closed due to employees and patrons coming down with COVID-19. Florida test cases have risen, but the ratio of positive tests to tests given remains the same (5.35%) and the ratio of deaths to positive cases has decreased slightly (3.8%). The hospitalization rate (16.2%) has dropped by more than 3 percentage points since the reopening started.
  9. Houston halted voluntary workouts when 6 symptomatic players tested positive for COVID-19. UH did not test every player before allowing them to come to their facilities.
  10. Don't know, but I paid way more than $20 Canadian dollars for each.
  11. A British game show, Countdown. I got into it watching the comedy parody version of the show "8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown" on Youtube. I do well with the numbers, not so much with the letters.
  12. I love it all and I really don't care whether the food is traditional and authentic or not. My daughter's inlaws are 2nd generation Italian. The son-in-law's linguini and clams are the best I've ever had. His mother's meatballs and tomato sauce are amazing. Chinese? Zom Hee in Pinellas Park, FL. It's my favorite Chinese Restaurant. It's a family-owned business that has been there for 35 years. I don't know whether it is still there or not, but 40 years ago, there was a Mexican place in downtown Racine, Wisconsin owned and operated by a Mexican immigrant I worked with at Delco Electronics in Oak Creek. To this day, the best Mexican food I've ever had. The red snapper they made there was unbelievable.
  13. Old Dennis Leary joke. "Bring me a live cow over to the table! I'll carve off what I want and RIDE THE REST HOME!"
  14. Texas hospitals are under 18% capacity involving COVID cases. Texas has also increased testing, up to 1.15 million. Florida is showing increased infections, too. All-time highs. However, they have expanded testing considerably, 250,000 on May 4 to 1.28 million as of today (400%). Based on the ratios on May 4, the ratio of tests to positive cases continues to be in decline as does the ratio of positive cases to deaths and positive cases to hospitalization.
  15. Can't get Grippo's here. :( I like kettle cooked jalapeño chips. (Miss Vickie's over the other brands.)
  16. Happy Belated Birthday!!!
  17. It depends on the cut as to time and temp. I purchased some 2 inch thick ribeyes last Saturday. I like ribeyes just a hair over medium-rare, 139 degrees. They came out perfectly. Sirloins I will prefer at 137. Since I got my sous vide, I've never had a steak prepared at any restaurant better than I can do myself.
  18. Waffle Fries. I love old fashion French Fries. Just salt, please.
  19. Cristobal is onshore and downgraded to a tropical depression. Some flooding in NOLA, but the worst of the weather was east of the storm center in Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida. A tornado touched down, the second in 2 days, near I-75 close to Lake City. It's still dumping a lot of rain in Louisiana and Mississippi this morning.
  20. Cristobal is getting ready to party in NOLA. Heading right up the mouth of the Mississippi. I just checked the NOLA Earth Cam. Other than the rain, which seems light, and Bourbon Street being deserted, nothing seems amiss.
  21. The outskirts of Cristobal has been wreaking havoc on the Tampa Bay Area all afternoon and evening. Several tornado warnings including one where we were at in Clearwater near US 19 and Bellair. Fun stuff.
