Walton is not in with NCC and Holy Cross! They are with Trimble, Owen, Carroll and Gallatin. They are pleased!

I saw the Walton/Bellevue game and they did have passion and swagger that you would expect from a Bellevue team. They were trying to do different things game plan wise than last years team but a new coach and loss of impact players was probably the reason. They are also another week into their game and seemed to have improved. I will say this though, those who take Walton Verona lightly will do so at their own peril. This is a totally different football team from last years team. They are extremely hungry and the seniors are driven to bring home a trip to the playoffs.

Exactly what I was driving at. Walton was shut out last year against Beechwood and to score 20 points on them was a big improvement. Defensively I say once again that there is alot of work to do for Walton. This program is on the rise and I believe the school and community are proud of the way this team has improved.

The player that recovered the ball for the TD off the fumble was "Bradley" 59 or 58 something like that was the starting DL lineman but I won't qibble anymore. Needless to say Walton was able to score and move the football on Beechwood's first defense. Not on every drive or at will but they were able to move the football. Defensively, Walton could not get very many stops. As I said earlier Vocke was on another level. Great back, and good job to their line as well.

I'll have to disagree with with the penalities accounting for the first touchdown and the first two touchdowns were against the first team. Walton had a few penalities that were questionable. Yes I agree that Beechwood was on the next level and congrats to them! Walton will be fine and need to focus on next weeks game with Brossart. As to #58 and a punch, I never saw that.

Too much Cameron Vocke tonight. Walton's offense did move the ball tonight with Bob Baumgartner rushing for 128 yards and a TD. No, it was not all against the second team. Defensively, not a good showing. Bearcats will be all right and need to get prepared for Brossart.

The difference between the early games you mentioned is the limiting of mistakes. Walton every week has been better at lessening mistakes (fumbles, interceptions, blown assignments, etc.). If they do alot of the aforementioned things, it will be a long long night. If they don't, we'll see.

My guess only but if they are not in the same district it is unlikely. Whatever 2A district they end up with they will have challenges.
