  1. How are Davis' handles? I would imagine that he is still getting a feel for his body considering his big growth spurt. The dude sounds like a scary prospect.
  2. Everyone's got to have their own opinion. I trust yours in this case, but I think some could prefer Miller over Davis because Miller has had more hype throughout the years. That said, I'll take Davis as well.
  3. I think there should be more interleague play, especially if one side has a DH and the other does not. Those are the most interesting games of the year IMO.
  4. Says the guy with less than 200 post . Just kidding big guy/gal :thumb:.
  5. Okay. Not sure that makes a lick of sense in regards to what we were talking about, but uh...um....okay that's cool with me. :idunno:
  6. I think a salary cap would be horrible for baseball. Teams like the Yankees and Red Sox keep the league in business. If they become average teams, I don't think the casual fan would watch many games at all. There is a reason the Yankees and Sox are on TV almost every night ESPN has a game. The teams that make the most most should be able to use it I think, because some teams barely make any at all. A Salary Cap is as unAmerican and uncapitalistic as it gets. My suggestions: 1. Both leagues should use a DH IMO. Maybe that's not the traditional way, but it will increase scoring in the National League and make it more competitive with the AL I think. 2. Marketing obviously needs a major upgrade. You have guys like Pujols, Howard, or even Strasburg, use them to improve interest in the game. Heck, one of the all-time great Yankees is still playing in Jeter, why not market that more? 3. More teams in the playoffs. Or better yet, the best 4 teams get in regardless of division. Maybe that makes the regular season less meaningful, but it would make the playoffs even better. 4. $1 Beer nights every Tuesday night.
  7. He could commit whenever I guess, though I don't know if it would be official. Kiffin took a commit from a 5 year old at QB a few months ago.
  8. I do apologize for disrupting the thread. Congrats to Mr. Brown, hope you have an excellent career no matter where you choose to go.
  9. Like who Collinsworth? Thanks but no thanks. I'll take guys like Travis Benjamin over him any day of the week. Didn't say it was just for the U, you don't see Florida or USC buring up KY for recruits, outside of the occasional one or two players here or there. And most LS don't get schollies. Who cares where a kicker or punter comes from? KY competition is weak compared to traditional football states, so those state produce infinitely more division 1 players. It's really not a hard concept. Don't get me wrong I want KY kids to succeed, I just wouldn't be pumped if the team I followed came up here looking for players because they don't need to. How many players in the NFL are from KY? How many D1 kids? How many from Florida? Thanks.
  10. I'm not a big KISS guy, so I'll say "Strutter".
  11. If Saban and Co say he's good, that should be enough for just about anyone. I do wonder if it is an offer that he can commit to right now though, or if it is a wait and see kind of thing for most of them.
  12. Seriously? Croyle was not bad at all in college and is in the league now. JPW was seriously underrated IMO. And McElroy seems pretty good to me, remember he was in his first year starting last year so he will be much better this season. I don't think he has ever lost a game as a starter, going back to middle school. Maybe their not Heisman material (I think McElroy might get some love this year), but all three were pretty good to me.
  13. Okay bub, be sure to remember that next time :thumb:.
  14. It's not that they're not good players. It takes a different kind of player an athlete to play at Miami, or Florida, or any other really high level program. Even UK is too high for the majority of the state's best players. Over the last decade or so I would have taken (hypothetically speaking of course) Mike Bush, Brohm, and Woodson and that's about it. I would consider guys like Keenan Burton, Jacob Tamme, or Micah Johnson though. I know I'm missing a player or two, but there just are not many players in KY that I would want playing for my favorite college team. That sounds awful I know, but I'm not saying it as a bad thing. I'm not trying to diss KY kids because I wish we had more really high major talent, the state is just not at that level yet. Also too much class is ridiculous. Miami has had one arrest under Shannon, and provides a pretty good, private education. This ain't the 80s man.
  15. Yup 9-4 is average for a team with arguably the nation's toughest schedule, a first year starting QB, and a defense missing their two most talented D-Linemen in Forston and Ojomo. True sophomore QB & WRs, best CB was a true sophomore, best LB was a true sophomore. The TE was a converted BBall player in his first year playing football, and the teams best RB was only a year removed from being a DB. Starting out the season with 4 nationally ranked opponents on top of all of that and getting to 9-4 is average, I'll live with that. You have to remember that even Tebow's sophomore year they didn't do any better than that with a proven coach in Meyer, and the teams were built pretty similarly, though Miami doesn't have a Tebow or Harvin obviously. Maybe they won't win a title again soon, but they are far from an average football team going forward and to be quite honest with you have no business recruiting the state of KY for talent, there is more than enough in their back yard. Next.
  16. 9-4 with a top 15 national ranking coming into this year. It would take anyone a long time to clean up the mess Larry Coker made. Look me up and say that again in late December.
  17. Scared me for a second, I thought it was the "other" Miami. I love KY football, but I don't want any of the instate boys anywhere near my team, the U. Well, I guess they could take Dawson from Boyle, he seems like a really high level player.
  18. I'm worried about UK this year. Huge holes on the Oline, and all over the back 7 of the defensive I think. QB is a huge question mark as well until proven otherwise. But outside of playing against Florida (or Bama if UK played them), I think Cobb gives them a shot to beat anyone if they can keep the game close. That said I would be very happy with 8 and 5 all things considered. I wouldn't complain about 7-6.
  19. There is still a guy on the board that I think could make up for missing out on those two.....................:sssh:
  20. Doesn't the state of Florida have stiff laws against the stuff going on in the Pouncey case?
  21. To be honest with you I don't care what kicker or defense I have. Couldn't be much of a difference point wise.
