  1. Other than the fact that I think Sean Taylor was or was going to be better than Ed Reed, I agree. You're counting on Pacman to step up?
  2. Ravens in '09 -3rd in YPG allowed or Total Defense -5th in rushing YPG allowed -8th in passing defense -18th in sacks -3rd in scoring defense (gave up 16.3 per game)
  3. :thumb: That is something I can definitely agree with.
  4. I have no bias against Flacco, I just think he's nothing more than average.
  5. His hands have continued to get worse. Hasn't he led the league in drops the last few years? Most of the passes he drops are not the QBs fault, they usually happen when he is wide open. I've seen him drop some sure TDs over the last few years.
  6. The TO from 4 or 5 years ago would put the Bengals in the preseason Super Bowl conversation IMO. That defense keeps getting better and better.
  7. You made the best pick of the 4 you were thinking about IMO. Love the Floyd pick, I think he's gonna put up some huge numbers this year :thumb:.
  8. I also forgot the mention that I think the Bengals win their division again. And TO didn't factor into that at all. I think Flacco is now the most overrated QB in the league and I expect their (Baltimore) defense to not be as good this year as age is catching up with them. The Browns have no shot in the division I wouldn't imagine. And the Steelers are probably a year away IMO, I think they still need to add some pieces. So I'm not trashing the Bengals, even though as I've said many times I'm not a fan.
  9. I just hope no one expects TO to be the savior. He is closer to being an average player than he is to being a star at this point in his career. Sure he is an upgrade, but any capable WR in the league would be compared to the garbage the Bengals trotted out there last year beside Chad. I mean for goodness sake, you guys were happy they signed Matt Jones!!!! That's how pathetic the Bengals WRs were. He makes the Bengals better but not much IMO. They would be just as good without him IMO if they use Gresham and guys like Bryant (when healthy) and Shipley.
  10. Even if they succeed I think it's going to set Ole Miss back. C'mon Coach Nutt.
  11. He's not serious man. No way a logical person could legitimately say some of this stuff . Humor him. Forget the Heisman, Miles Simpson should already be enshrined in the NFL Hall of Fame. Miles Simpson should be the new Dos Equis guy. SEC teams don't even try to tackle Miles Simpson, they're just happy to get to share the field with him.
  12. Easy, plagarism isn't my style man. :thumb: Anyway, I think Palmer is overrated, you don't. I see no reason to continue to the discussion, we are both set in our views of him.
  13. UKMF, you've seen enough of my post to know I'm always going to go as extreme as I can. :thumb: I'm always going to be sarcastic and immature.
  14. He's an average season away from breaking into the top 20 for career passing TD's, he'll almost certainly end up in the top 10-12 passers yardage-wise of all-time, he's 9th al-time in passer rating, he's got a Super Bowl and Super Bowl MVP, 3 times he's been the Offensive player of the year, 4 time Pro Bowler, 3 time All-Pro. Naw, not a Hall of Famer and certainly not capable of comparing to the Gold Standard of QBs Carson Palmer.
  15. Drew Brees is a future Hall of Famer man. 1st ballot signed and sealed. Not really seeing how he compares to Palmer. And one season makes Palmer elite? Let's go ahead and enshrine Tommy Maddox and Jon Kitna in the Hall of Fame.
  16. Elite? C'mon you have to be kidding. When I think of Elite QBs I think of future Hall of Famers.
  17. So he was considered top 5 before his injury, he's healthy now and he's not even close to top 5? People just jumped the gun man, at no point in time has Palmer proven to be anything more than a capable starter.
  18. Peyton makes guys like Pierre Garcon Austin Collie look good. Had you ever heard of them before last year? Peyton has produced no matter who his WRs are, Palmer has not. I can't believe this is even a conversation. I expected more from you . Take over the Orange and Black sunglasses for a second. Palmer is average at best and always has been. He doesn't have great accuracy, he's never proven to be super clutch, he doesn't have out of this world arm strength, what does he do that is so great? :idunno:.
  19. Mine is similar to UKMF's list with a few changes. Bradford will rise up this list with experience: 1) Drew Brees 2) Peyton Manning 3) Tom Brady 4) Aaron Rodgers 5) Ben Rothlisberger 6) Brett Favre 7) Philip Rivers 8) Eli Manning 9) Matt Ryan 10) Tony Romo 11) Matt Schaub 12) Donovan McNabb 13) Joe Flacco 14) Carson Palmer 15) Kevin Kolb 16) Chad Henne 17) Jay Cutler 18) Vince Young 19) Mark Sanchez 20) Matt Cassell 21) Kyle Orton 22) Jason Campbell 23) Matt Hasselbeck 24) David Garrard 25) Alex Smith 26) Matthew Stafford 27) Matt Moore 28) Matt Leinhart 29) Jake Delhomme 30) Josh Freeman 31) Trent Edwards 32) Sam Bradford
  20. Okay let's not even go there in comparing Palmer to Manning. Maybe Cooper Manning . And he was young and having success, many of the talking heads also used to think Drew Bledsoe was going to be an all-time great but they were wrong though. Palmer has always been extremely overated to me. As for your original argument: 1. Comparing Palmer to Steve Young is ridiculous and most would see that it's a horrible comparison or that it's horrible to say Palmer is better. 2. Saying Palmer is overrated is nothing like the previous statement. You may disagree with it, but many people would probably say that he is. No one other than a Bengals-lover or 49ers-hater would say Palmer is even close to being as good as Young. Big difference, no?
  21. He never really was one of the top WR to me. He had the luxary of playing with two guys who were among the top 10-15 WR in the game for much of his career in TJ and Chad, not to mention Henry was ultra talented. Plenty of guys did more with less. He's just always been average IMO and Bengals fans acted like he was a passing God.
  22. Carson Palmer better than Steve Young...are you drunk? I really hope that was a joke. For my money McNabb, Garcia and Romo are all better than Carson Palmer as well. Of couse I think Palmer is the most overrated (by fans) player I have ever seen in the NFL. He's not even Matt Schaub let alone Steve Young. As for not liking the make-up, the Bengals are talented but with this many questionable guys they are one meltdown away from being a disaster. Some teams can handle troubled players, the Bengals really don't do a good job of it. I'm glad all of these guys are in Cincy, it should make for an exciting season as a person with no set NFL team.
