  1. Being the father of a Senior at the Colts of DeSales in Louisville, I know of several kids that have visited the school a few months ago and tried on their jersey number. Although they have not committed to play there yet both Devon Boze (DT, DE) and Johnny French (DE, LB) are very interested. It seems the school is working hard to build a top notch program and going after some quality athletes. There is also a leading running back from Seneca that visited named Another Knott. We are planning to make orientation on Saturday the 26th. Will keep everyone posted.
  2. Wow, what a difference from the first match up in the LIT. Did not know if Manual had some players missing or if DeSales were hitting all there shots. Seems Mullaney had a stellar game with a high score of I believe I read 27 points in the paper. I am really surprised DeSales is not ranked higher than they are currently. Maybe this win will move them up in the polls. If they win the Region, this will be two sports to do so, football and basketball. I think the basketball program have bumped it up a notch.
  3. I would like to see Seneca come to life. But, until they get some discipline and a coaching staff that can hone in the potential that may be among the athletes. I can only see Seneca being mediocre at best.
  4. I can not believe no one sees DeSales as being a contender next year and the years to come. If they keep the kids returning you will see another championship caliber team.
  5. I know several kids from Louisville DeSales are looking at some DIII schools. I could not agree more that education prevails when deciding, not whether DI or DII
  6. A nomination by coaches to athletes with outstanding community service as well as academics. http://www.usaa-academy.com is their website.
  7. DeSales is graduating 11 Seniors. They have a large number of underclassmen returning that includes players from an undefeated freshman team in 06. Look for the Colts to be in State contention once again.
  8. I found this online. May have been in Tuesday's paper under the scores of the basketball games.
  9. Football Greater Louisville Coaches Association All-District Teams: Class 4-A, District Four, defense – OLB D.J. Elmore, North Bullitt. Class AA, District Five (all from DeSales) – DT Devon Boze, LB Cody Cutsinger, DE John French, RB Myles Poole, OL Justin Powell, TE Luke Renfro, OL Curtis Wentworth.

  11. I saw Danny play baseball this past summer, and he hit a homerun. Danny played baseball at Hikes Point as well and was to play at Seneca but moved I believe to Altanta to be with his father. The kid is little but has some skills. Yes, it was unfortunate for Devon, but through it all he has become a better person as well as an athlete. Devon is considering playing college football, however, only playing his Senior year he will have to be a walk-on. He has been accepted to EKU into the Aviation program. Is also considering Thomas-More in Northern Kentucky. I am confident that he will work as hard this off-season as prior to his Senior year and will produce at the next level.
  12. I know all those kids and that team won the league. Devon Boze also was on the team although was not at the same level as those mentioned, he started at DeSales on the DL. He completed his Senior year with 67 tackles, 3 sacks, 1 blocked punt, and 2 fumble recoveries. Unfortunately he was sidelined the last two seasons due to ACL surgeries.
  13. Good game to both teams. Close scoring game as in the DeSales game. The difference being the pressure put on the quarterback. Some awesome defensive play for both teams. Sure we will see one of you teams next year in the finals.
  14. Good going Central. You proved all those doubters wrong. You guys have a quality coach that will bring more championships to your school.
  15. DeSales looked good in the first quarter, could not score on some good plays. Failed to score on the 1 yard line. DeSales ran the ball well in the first quarter, but the momentum slowly shifted to the Breds. NCC totally dominated the second half shutting down DeSales offense. The quarterback from NCC, who I hear is only a Junior, was very impressive. I honestly thought it was going to be a closer scoring game. It certainly seemed like from the start it was going to be and seemed both teams were well matched. However, in the second half that was proven wrong. DeSales was simply outmatched and could not muster a drive for a touchdown. NCC is certainly a class program of a bunch of well coached kids that's full of talent. DeSales could not have lost to a better team. Good luck Saturday and may you guys pull out another championship victory.
  16. I tell you if I were a player reading some of these post I would feel doomed to defeat. The posts on this site are kind compared to some others I have read. I have read a score of 42-13 being the final. One poster said NCC can win by as much as they want. I am somewhat dismayed, not that any players read this, but the non match-up of a playoff game this is being considered. Either no one on the sites feels anyone in the state can compete with NCC, or there is a lack of knowing one team or another.
  17. That seems to be the score that most are going with, who have predictions of the game. I do feel that may come to be with both the running and passing game of NCC. However, I do feel the Colts can determine if they will allow that score to be or not based on how they begin the game. I agree with other posters of message boards that if they come out flat as in recent games, they will pay for it early. If they come out and not fumble, show they can handle the ball, they will prevent the momentum from shifting to NCC. I do feel the Colts will have the momentum to start the game, they just have to keep it. They will have to not let the pressure of this being a semi-state game take away their composure. It will be hard in that the Colts are new to this post-season play. NCC has had many years of experience in post-play and the coaching staff is comfortable in what their kids can do in getting there.
  18. I knew of one, but not that there are two big road graters. Nice article though, thanks for sharing.
  19. A look back at an article after the Prestonsburg game. http://www.courier-journal.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071124/SPORTS05/711240508/1031
