Grant county wasn't even suppose to be in this game.. and they weren't even suppose to win 10 games this year so 15-16 and districts runner up is a successful season compared to what they have had in the past. Through all the adversity the grant county boys have went through this year is amazing what they have accomplished.

What have they went through this year? They may have won 15 games, but their schedule was pretty weak! If I am correct they only won 3 games against teams with winning records. :eek:

Just 3 years ago the program was in good shape before Kinmon left. The varsity had won 19 games and got beat in District Finals by Simon Kenton by 2 pts. They lost in OT in region to Owen Co.. The JV had an above .500 record and the Freshman Team went 17-3. Those Freshman are now the Seniors! What has happened to make you think they shouldn't have won 10 games?

What makes you think the program was in good shape? There was no discipline, no development of the younger players in the feeder programs and a lot of outside influence! What has happened is no more who you are and young players stepping up.Grant will be fine as these players mature. Your either with them or against them, get on board or go somewhere else!

Two starters quit halfway through the season.. Andrew hurley played on a torn miniscus Mario Coleman played his first whole season after two knee surgeries and the whole kinmon situation is and the scrutiny coach hicks went through from the community. So don't open your mouth when you don't know what you're talking about. Weak schedule?? I'm sick of hearing that 15 wins is what it is. Sincerely number23 gc:thumb:

The only senior left from that freshmen group is trevor hunt all the other ones quit...

First off, I have no problem with Coach Hicks and his staff. I think they are doing a fine job. What i don't understand is how so many people have turned on Coach Kinmon and don't realize what he did while coaching there. Your comment about no discipline. Kinmon suspended 2 starters for the District Tournament in 2007 for being late to school. He had discipline. What are the outside influences you are talking about? Young players have stepped up. Carr, Johnson, and Cummins are all going to be good players, but 3 years ago everyone thought the same thing about Kinmon and Hunt when they started as Sophomores.

I forgot to mention that the youth league season has been cut in half. Is that developing players in your feeder program??? Of course, i am not sure that is really Coach Hicks' responsibility. I think the community should step up and take this on. When was the last time you watched a middle school game, 2 of the 3 coaches are terrible!

Really? Did any players ever quit while he was at the helm? Would they have made the team better? Manic you know exactly what has happened at GC this year EVERY LITTLE DETAIL! So don't act clueless when asking Sweetlucy 23 "What has happened to make you think they wouldn't win 10 games". Bottom line is these kids played their butts off all year! they lost some games they should not have, and they won some games they should not have. Measure all of them that played on a regular basis, there is not 1 that is a true 6 footer! but the scrapped and clawed all season ,won their way to the region, and got it handed to them by a much more talented team. Its been one kick in the gut after another for GC this year but nobody wants to applaud the kids for overcoming everything that was thrown at them. As far as what I said about get on board or go somewhere else, Well... What part of that do you need me to translate?

Nobody from Grant saw the game. I saw schools not participating in the region bring more fans, pretty poor showing from the braves faithful.

Every coach has had a few players quit at some point. I don't know all the details, but am close enough to know some things about the program. Wasn't quite sure what Sweetlucy was talking about. I won't deny that the kids played hard! The players on this team are small, but have a ton of heart. Just becaused i asked a few questions, don't think i am not supportive of the players or coaches. I will applaud the kids on this team just like i would any kid who plays hard night in and night out. Just asked a few questions about the overall state of the program. It just bothers me how everyone wants to make excuses and blame it on Coach Kinmon.

Notice that most of his resentment is toward anybody with the last name ''Kinmon''. His fixation with them is almost weird.
