I just don't see it. He'd have to play 5 more seasons, play every game each season, and average between 22-24 points a game. I think he'll end up close, but not quite get there.

Lebron will probably break the record he sets anyway if he stays healthy.

I'd say a 2 point drop off per season could be fair but no one has ever averaged 30 at his age. He keeps proving people wrong so I think he can be above 20 ppg at the end of that run. A few more trips to Germany couldn't hurt.

The thing with Kobe is, I think he can get really close by playing to the point of when he SHOULD retire. Unfortunately I believe he may go out there WAY past his prime to get the record.

Barring a long-term injury--one that would sideline him for a majority of a season--I say he probably will. Like the Slickster, I think if his body permits, he'll play until he breaks the record.

I do as well. I agree with that article that says Kobe wants people to look back 200 years from now and say he had a better career than MJ.

I do think that if Kobe is averaging 20+ points/game in 4 years then he'll have to die to not get the record. I am not confiden his body will hold up.
