I was sick this weekend and caught up on movies and TV. One of the things I watched was the whole first season of Homeland. I came away very impressed. Thought the writers did an excellent job of maintaning believability and most importantly focusing on the characters much more then these type of thrillers usually do.

 

Finally, I think Claire Danes' performance is the best for a female lead actress in a drama, ever. She knocked it completely out-of-the-park.

 

I know season 2 won't start until the fall, but I'm already anxiously awaiting it.

I also watched the entire first season over the past 2 weeks after I finally got showtime. The show is very good and very well written. They do give the characters a great deal of background and detail. I'm very excited for next season which starts up in October.

I haven't really watched the other shows on showtime. Other than Dexter what other shows are good?

 

Californication is good, but I've only seen season 1 on Netflix. I don't even think it's on there now.

 

I've heard Weeds is good too. I also love Shameless.

I just discovered this show (and this thread). I watched the entire first season of Homeland in about 3 days and cannot wait for the 2nd season in September.

 

Absolutely awesome first season & I highly recommend it to everyone. There's a little of everything. Action, drama, nudity & cursing.

I was about the same way, a friend of mine suggested it. Found it on showtime on demand and I was all caught up within about a week. Really looking forward to this season.

I did the same. Watched Season 1 over 3 days. Love it.

Coming back this weekend. I can't wait. With Breaking Bad, Justified, and Mad Men on break this is the best show out there. Should be very interesting to see how they keep the suspense up over a longer duration. But DAMN, I have been rewatching this with my lady friend and much kudos to Claire Danes again. Her performance was astounding.

I heard an interview with the lead character. He's a Brit. Hides the accent well.
