greendevil Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 I know most of their better players have another whole year... but who projects to be the best college ball player of them all? Are any of them D1 material? What say you....?

With Henderson slowly winning me over as their best player.
NKYBOY1487 Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 Jefferson is a top prospect but I don't know how many D-1 teams will give him a shot because of his size. Henderson has to find a consitant outside shot. If he does he is bigtime D-1. UC would be a good fit. I've said before, if Rice grows two inches he's at UC or somelevel equal too that.

Jefferson is around 6ft tall and has nice build to him, he lift weights in offeseason because his also Holmes best football player. I don't think size is that huge of a factor for Jefferson.

Not really, but I can see Duran playing small D-1 or really good D-2. What about 2 years at a JUCO and then playing at good sized D-1. What about this. Say Huggins does go to Marshall. And Mayo, Walker, Ellis all follow. Then the Herd brings in Duran and Rice to finish out the recruiting class. Then the next season they bring in Henderson. Not a bad team.

They would have to order a lot more basketballs for this group??
SKNEERS Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 I can see Duran going and getting a decent amount of playing time at a middle sized D1 school.
EQUUS GREVYI Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 Jefferson may be the best defensive guard that I have seen in a long time. He is extremely quick and a good ball handler as well. I think he has the best college up-side. He could play in the MAC. Rice needs more than 2" to play his game at UC. He is a very good player at the high school level but is a tweener at the college level. He certainly has the skill and desire to play somewhere but not high level D-1.
sportsnutt Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 What do we consider high level? I can think of alot of decent players who have played at a high level D1. And to be honest, some of those players would of had trouble starting on some D2 Teams. You guys can throw out some names, but I will give you a few. Heck, just look at UK. Can't get much high level than that. Stockton Mills J.P. Belivins Carrier Thats just from UK. I believe I would take Jefferson, or Rice, over that group. Today!
EQUUS GREVYI Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 Mills, Blevins and Carrier were at UK because they could shoot. That was their primary role and I would certainly take all three of them over Jefferson for that role. Jefferson is a point guard and for that you would have to compare him to Delk, Epps, Turner, etc. and I don't think he compares.

I don't care what postion, if the Coach needs a PG then thats what he will recruit. If he needs a SG then thats what he will recruit. All I am saying is that IMO these guys will be better college players. Oh, and Delk was a 2.
DoggyDawg Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 Duran Jefferson - Being looked at by a few D1 Schools Greg Rice - Being looked at y a few D1 Schools Arrez Henderson - Should be one of the best of the class of 08' and will probably be looked at by D1 Schools as well. All of the three listed above should be able to help a D1 level in 2008. Arrez may turn out to be the best of the three, time will tell. Hill and Edmondson will get several looks as well. Very good 07' class coming out of the COV.
greendevil Posted December 29, 2005 Author Posted December 29, 2005 What is Rice's height? And is the cosensus that Rice Jefferson and Henderson all have a better shot than Hill?
BigStud Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 What is Rice's height? And is the cosensus that Rice Jefferson and Henderson all have a better shot than Hill? Hill is probably gonna play football from what I here, but HIll could be a sleepr, he definetly could play at NKU if he wanted. Rice is in the 6'4 range.
NEERFAN Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 I agree about Rice, him at 6'6'" equals definite D1.
