This is true...plus they have Gayheart...who knocks down the NBA three's. I think she finished 6 for 7 on treys for the game. Incredible. That makes any team hard to beat. Congrats to the Bearcats on the win and their successful, timely 3rd quarter double teaming of Gayheart to make her give up the ball.

Another key stat.....WV held Gayheart without a field goal during the second half. WV changed defenses the second half multiply times and Owen did not have an answer.

The real game changer was Walton's defense basically shutting out Gayheart the second half. I believe she had 15 points in the 1st half and had only 1 point in the 2nd half.

If opinion is "that" particular call, good or bad was the game changer, what about the large number of lack of calls in the second half? Defense was a key factor, good job to Coach Clinkenbeard for adjusting the Ladies to do what they needed to do. Good job Bearcats:)

They play the 7th Region Champ, Wednesday Jan 25th, 8:00pm. The 7th region starts their tournament this Wednesday. Looking ahead, it should be Louisville Collegiate, Kentucky Country Day or Whitefield, favored in that order.

Christian Academy?? I believe they were in the tournament last year.

just read that Christian Academy is not competing this year.

Kara Taulbee #33 for Walton was a combined 13 for 17 from 3 in the semi and final. She scored 22 points in just 8 minutes of play in the semi. and had 23 in the final. I was super impressed with her shooting but was also very impressed with her ball handling and decision making. Great player!!!!! I thought she was very deserving of the tournament MVP.
