East Jessamine 110 Wayne County 81

Featured Replies

Both teams pressed the entire game. That strategy was fine for East Jessamine since they are much more athletic. I do question the wisdom for Wayne County as it was a layup fest for East Jessamine throughout. Funny part is total score for quarters 1, 2 & 4 was 70-70. East Jessamine won the 2nd quarter 40-11. They extended the lead to 40+ in the second half and Wayne County closed it late. I wonder if Wayne County always presses as that was the first time I have seen them this year?

i saw wayne and southwestern play earlier in the year, wayne pressed a little but were unable to score enough to set up their press in that game.

I havent seen East Jessamine at this point but I have heard only good things from people that have seen them play. Right now Southwestern, Pulaski and East Jessamine seem to be considered the choices to come out of the 12th region, if it were played today. I have also heard some say that West Jessamine is no slouch, but I havent got to see them play either.

This Region is wide open, PC, Southwestern, and East Jess are the top 3. West Jess. , Wayne Co. or McCreary Central can knock anyone off on any given night. McCreary had knocked off PC and West Jess both, then lose to Wayne Co. twice. This will be a fun Regional to watch.

Keep im mind that Wayne is very young. They are gonna have these lapses sometimes. Also their youth plays into the equation later in the game when strength comes into play. When they shoot it well they are capable of playing with anyone in the region on a given night this year. Watch out in a about two years.
