Could it have anything to do with the girlfriend being white and that being the reason the mother dislikes her so much? It could be a host of other things obvoiusly, but you hear black comedians all the time making fun of themselves for hating black guys that date white girls. Not sure how that is not considered racist, but that is for another thread.

It is most definitely as racist as the vice versa situation of it. (white parents hating the black boyfriend/girlfriend)
