February 4, 201214 yr Steven A. is pro black. Not racist. Two different things. So if Skip were pro white would he be a racist??? That's crap and only can be gotten away with from one side...
February 4, 201214 yr So if Skip were pro white would he be a racist??? That's crap and only can be gotten away with from one side... Name one racist comment Steven A. has said. Name one. I'll wait. People always call him racist but when I ask for proof nobody has any. Steven A. takes up for the maligned black athletes like Allen Iverson and Michael Vick when they are getting hammered by white America. One of his main points when defending them is that their behavior is defined and molded by their cultural upbringing but a lot of white people have a hard time understanding that. He is also a very proud black man who doesn't hold his tongue when he feels there is an underlying racial tone. That doesn't make him racist. Makes him aware. He talks and says things people don't want to hear or talk about. He also does it very loudly. If he was indeed racist do you really believe that ESPN, the worldwide leader in sports, would put him on tv? If he was racist do you think Fox News would allow him to be a recurring guest on their channel to discuss politics? Quit being ridiculous. You don't like him. I get it. But the hollow claims of racism are laughable until you can provide me with some hardcore proof. Otherwise you're just peeing in the wind. Last I saw Skip Bayless was a proud pro white man. I can't recall him ever liking any black athlete and he even brought Chris Bosh on his show to disrespect him on national tv to his face. And don't get me started in his LeBron James rants and his love affair with Tim Tebow. Does Skip like any black people? Yeah, Skip Bayless must be racist too. It all makes sense now.

I was responding to your claim that he is pro black. For the record, I like Steven A. Smith and Whitlock too. (Whitlock more than Smith). Take a look at your response, in earnest. Maybe Vick and Iverson don't understand what it means to be molded in a white cultural upbringing. It is a stupid statement. Never have minorities been given so many rights as here in the United States and yet they are always wanting more. Name another country in the world where minorities have been given the freedom and opportunity that they have here? Until people (you and I ) see things through one set of visual prisms, then these racial undertones will exist. I can't stand the KKK and have equal mistrust for Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson and the race baiting they spew.

I was citing examples of Steven A. and things he has said regarding Iverson and Vick. I never stated my views. Maybe pro black is the wrong description but Steven A. says a lot of things that make sense that people don't agree with and he gets branded a racist as a result and I disagree with him being racist. He is simply offering a different perspective without castigating people like Iverson and Vick. As to your minorities claim I am dumbfounded. What minorities are wanting more from what rights? I haven't got a clue as to what you are saying. Please provide examples. I thought we all had the same rights. What am I missing? Can't stand Whitlock. Loathe him, Skip and Rick Reilly. No beef with Steven A. I don't like Jessie or Al.
February 5, 201214 yr Author Steven A. is pro black. Not racist. Two different things. So if Scott Van Pelt says "I'm pro-white." would you think he's racist?

So do you think Skip is racist?
February 5, 201214 yr So if Scott Van Pelt says "I'm pro-white." would you think he's racist? Nope. Not until he starts talking crap on every black athlete would I think it. I just think he is a blowhard who says extremely stupid things for ratings and shock value. I don't think my best friend who hates black quarterbacks is racist so it would take more than than someone saying they are pro white for me to believe they are racist. Martin Luther King was pro black. Is he racist?
February 5, 201214 yr So do you think Skip is racist? No....note the roll eyes smiley at the end for sarcasm.
February 5, 201214 yr Author No....note the roll eyes smiley at the end for sarcasm. Yea, but it seemed like a sincere statement so I was thrown off by the smiley..
February 5, 201214 yr Yea, but it seemed like a sincere statement so I was thrown off by the smiley.. Naw, pure sarcasm. Skip has never said anything racist. People get fired for that.
February 5, 201214 yr Author I think most racism is underlying which is why there's no concrete proof they are racist. I believe in my heart of hearts Stephen A doesn't like white people. Of course this is just my opinion. I'm sure there are plenty of white commentators who are racist even though there's no proof they've used slurs, etc. They aren't stupid..

I agree somewhat but I don't think Stephen A. hates white people. I don't think many if any sports commentators are racist though. Too many blacks in sports for it to not come out eventually.
