Garrett Sauer (sp?)

Sauer(sp) #4

Don't get me wrong....I would not trade Dawkins for any back in the state, that includes Jude and Wales, but I just love watching our backup Sauer play. I feel like on any other team he would be the feature back and someone we would be talking about on here. He has a very physical style of running but is capable of running away from defenders which is evident in his multiple long TD runs this year. He reminds me of a little smaller Vince Phillips who was T's RB in the late 90's early 2000's. Both were very physical but could run away from you.

Is Garrett getting any attention from some smaller colleges?

Agree with you 110%. Very cool to see him get a score tonight. He would be the best rb on a very high percentage of teams.

He is very, very good. He would start for (almost) every other team in the state of KY.

Really like Sauer too. Same with lots of T Senior kids I saw not get in til 4th Q last night

I am sure you meant that as some type of compliment .

Not one of your better posts. I bet the kids didn't care. They are for the program, not themselves. Way to keep it classy coach.

I'm sure he did. In fact, it was so important to him that he wrote it on the back of his hand.

See Coach Strong's comments about Will Stein. Some folks just don't understand.

This is why the gap will remain will remain between T and some other Jeff Co. teams. Some teams gain well coached talent when it is apparent that they will not be #1, 2, or 3 at T and so they go other places to play. Others (like Sauer) stay the course, find success, and go out a champion. Of course anyone paying attention knows that Sauer played in the first half briefly and a lot of the 3rd qtr., but that is beside the point.

Wow. I just responded to someone else"s pointing out how good a particular kid looked that I'd never seen play before last night. That also held true for MANY kids I saw late in the game who were VERY impressive kids. Was commenting on the incredible DEPTH of this years Trinity team as much as how impressive the individuals were.

I think if you'll look at any of my previous posts about T in the past or talked to any of my colleagues, they will speak to how I've always been nothing but complimentary--and this year In awe -- of them.

I'm sorry if my comment seemed somehow not a compliment to the kids and team I finally got to see play. I am in agreement with many I've heard say T is the best Ky team ever and that their 2's would likely beat most team's 1's (I'm really just echoing what I hears the T radio announcers say last week during the 4th Q against Butler).

First, our radio guys are total homers. Big time.

Thanks for clarifying your post.

Point taken. I mentioned your posts to a neighbor of mine last night...and how that one threw me off. No worries, good luck next year.

Mea Culpa from me as well. [ Means -- "I'm sorry"..........................I think]

Guess I just "read you wrong." I too thought it was uncharacteristic of you - but just seemed to have a bit of a bite to it.

Through my fault is the literal translation, if I remember my Latin. I too must have misinterpreted the Coach's meaning, or maybe not. Either way, it isn't about the playing time, it is about the total experience of Trinity. As my son told me, being a sub at Trinity is better than being a four year starter anywhere else.

Totally agree - and I am glad someone who has had the "experience" pointed that out.

I didn't think I was that far off in the first place - it struck me as a 'strange way " to say something positive.Oh well.

Thanks for the lesson as well
