I understand that clock is not official count and it could have just clicked under 2:09 but that still leaves a solid second making that count quick?

What? Scott probably has the deepest bench in NKY. They played 11 players before anyone fouled out. Scott cannot turn the ball over that many times and expect to win. Scott probably had close to 30 turnovers and many were unforced.

 

Scott's biggest downfall outside of the turnovers was inexperience. Not knowing how to finish a game. They will learn. The future looks bright for the young Eagles.

 

The comment about lack of depth had to do with the inexperience and youth coming off the bench. When Pouncy and Daugherty went out of the game Scott struggled at the guard positions, hence all the turnovers down the stretch that allowed Holmes to get back in the game and eventually take the lead.

 

A team can play a lot of kids but that doesn't mean they have "quality" depth.

Officiating was bad both ways. Not saying you're using it as an excuse but lets not act like that one call lost the game for Scott. Ask Coach Carr and he will tell you the Eagles poor shot selection combined with turnovers with the lead down the stretch is what lost the game.

Where was Coston in this game. Walter you had Q and Coston pegged as the best backcourt in NKY and he doesn't crack the starting lineup or the scorebook? What gives? Is he in Booher's doghouse?

 

Not sure what's up with Coston. Neither he or Knox started last night after being big contributors last year. Knox was in foul trouble so didn't play as much but Coston definetly had an off night. Coston came in late against Colerain as well. Amison looked very good last night though so that could also be why Coston is coming off the bench.

Agreed. The big kid was a load down low offensively for both Rice and Knox.

Oh I know what you were saying, I was just making the point that those other factors you spoke of were of no impact from what I observed. And its not a play that cost Scott the game, that was their own doing but it was a big moment that changed momentum.

Some one ask who the new coach was on the bench other than Mike Listerman, it is Tony Perkins, he is from North Hardin where he was an assistant and head coach for 25 years, North Hardin won 10 regional championships while Coach Perkins was there, he and Coach Booher have been long time friends, Coach Perkins is now a principal in the Covington school system. As for the game i thought Scott played extremely hard as most of Coach Carrs teams do, also notice that Scott has a nice addition to there staff in Jeff Trame, buy the end of the year Holmes bench will be very deep, glad most people seemed to enjoy the introductions with the spot lights.
