Specifically, somebody who's been around a while, but you've just never gotten around to exploring their back catalog.

 

Some I've always enjoyed, but for whatever reason I've just not gotten around to buying their stuff include:

 

Social Distortion — great sound, even through their stylistic shifts

 

The Minutemen — tried to, picked up a reissue of "Double Nickels On The Dime" over the summer, but ended up with an error with two Record 2s

 

Sonic Youth — Too much to choose from; where to start?

 

Albert King — I tend to concentrate on one or two artists at a time while building my blues collection — John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, Lightnin' Hopkins and RL Burnside have been the focus the past few years

Same here. I've dabbled with the Lips a little bit but still haven't really ever gave them a lot of run. I imagine I will some day as the stuff I have heard I've liked pretty good. Same with the Black Keys. Heard a lot of their stuff but haven't really tried to get into them a whole lot.

For me I would probably say Stevie Wonder is someone I've been meaning to dig into more - I've only really listened to his more famous songs.

Don't know how long they've been around but I'm getting into Grayson Capps.

The Black Keys are the best rock band going right now.

 

I know I guess thats why I haven't got into them as much. Even though I know they are not that overly commercial and still create a nice indie vibe the fact that so many people like them is what scares me away I think. For some reason when it comes to music I don't like to be the guy to jump on the fad band bandwaggon. Black Keys are the hot band right now so I don't want to just dive in and go full throttle and act like I've loved them forever. One day I may, but right now I guess I will just give them casual play.
