November 21, 201114 yr How about what determined his popularity? Interesting. Not sure I'm following you on this one. I just pointed out that Clinton enjoyed high approval ratings as well, yet he was perhaps the most ridiculed president in history (deservedly so in many cases, I might add). You're just reinforcing my point, really. It's unfathomable to those who worship at the altar of Saint Ronnie that anyone would dare ridicule him. Just admit it.

I pointed out there was a reason he is the most popular president of all time. Clinton was mostly ridiculed for personal reasons. I don't mind questioning anyone's antics, if it's done intelligently. You merely make childish insults and if someone takes up for Reagan you will critcize them. Great minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss events, small minds discuss people I'd put you in the bolded, Jim.

Because you ridicule him in the most disrespectful way. You can criticize him but give him credit where credit is due. I don't agree with everything Clinton did but he was a good leader and our country was in prosperous times when he was in office. Partly because of him.

That's OK, though. I'm fairly secure in my intellectual prowess. And if anything, you're missing the point of my nickname of Reagan. It's less about him than about the way the right deifies anything and everything about Reagan, to the point that his warts and failures have essentially been whitewashed from the record, as far as conservatives are concerned. Because you ridicule him in the most disrespectful way. You can criticize him but give him credit where credit is due. I don't agree with everything Clinton did but he was a good leader and our country was in prosperous times when he was in office. Partly because of him. See above.
November 21, 201114 yr He didn't regret raising taxes. He regretted agreeing to raise taxes but then having the other side renege on their deal. Grover would have still called him a "rat head." Maybe the history lesson is having an influence on those opposing raising taxes at this time. It seems that no matter what goes on there are those who just want to spend more and more. It is time to cut the budget and not raise taxes. I am tired of the greed of the left. Just wanting to take from the achievers and give it away. There is room for helping the less fortunate, but the left knows no bounds. The greed of the left is all about bashing achievers with some sort of misplaced morality.
