I am waiting for the same post from last week that BW fans should be ashamed for complaining about the refs. I could be imagining things but it seems that the quality of officiating in the playoffs compared to the regular season has diminished significantly......for both teams playing. Calls are being made from across the field from officials who are seemingly out of position while officials closest to the play do nothing. Some of these refs think they are bigger than the game. I meant that figuratively, not literally.

Congratulations to the Tigers on a hard fought victory. I agree with Coach Buckett, this game final score does not tell how tough this game was for Beechwood. Frankfort has a very good group of young players and they came to play. Beechwood answered the challenge. The Tigers were in control of the game but they could not put enough points on the board and pull away till the 4th quarter. This was a great game for Beechwood to play in the week before Mayfield. Frankfort has speed on top of speed. Outside of the two big plays, Beechwood was able to match up just fine. Even on the big pass play, Beechwood had the speed to chase the guy down who broke free, the 3 or 4 players that got to him before the end zone just didn't make the tackle to finish the play. Great play on that one by #10 making moves and using blockers to get to the end zone. Very nice job by the Panthers players and coaches. I also really liked the class move by the Panther coach calling a time out with a couple minutes to go and letting his senior players come off the field one by one to be acknowledged by everyone. Nice job on that!

 

I am going to call out the Panther fans. I believe Beechwood may have had more fans at the game than Frankfort and that shouldn't happen. Those Panther fans need to get behind this group because I think they have a chance to be special. Frankfort has a young team. They have a chance to be a legitimate state title contender next year. That community needs to get behind these guys.

 

Keep up the good work Panther coaches. This was a fun game to watch. The more competition the better it is for everyone. Good luck and we hope to see you next year at Beechwood. You will love the Beechwood football complex!

VOR, you are 100% correct. Every game that I have attended at Frankfort it looks as if there crowd is small. I wonder why? They have a good group of kids, coaches, etc. Only team in the town playing last night, would have thought that some kids from the other schools would have made the trip. Good luck to Frankfort next year as you all prepare for the season (coming to Beechwood, about time).

That is because you are use to having the officials from NKY every week, who consistantly score tops in the state. Once playoffs start each region rotates their officials. NKY goes to Louisville, Louisville goes to Lexington, Lexington goes to the eastewrn part of the state and so on. This is evident by how many officials from NKY are put into the Semi's and the finials.
