I'm already getting tired of the notion that Gatewood cost Williams the election. Most of the Gatewood voters I know would have either stayed at home or voted for Beshear.

I worked with a girl who's last name is P'Pool. And my family has close family friends named P'Pool. It's actually not that uncommon.

I know some people named P'Pool as well.

The Republican party had some pretty weak candidates for this election, especially Williams. That had to contribute to the low turn out.

Sure hope the GOP Senate Caucus develops a spine and tosses Williams out of his leadership spot. Wouldn't mind seeing an investigation of him, either, over his being on the payroll of the Indiana casino lobby.

Given his stance on gambling and its impact or potential impact to the horse industry his ties to the Indiana casinos should be thoroughly reviewed.

When I sold cell phones in Lexington Alison used to come in quite often. She even helped me with another matter after I left the store. I was very glad to see her get the win.

He was the Libertarian candidate which is definitely not the same thing.

 

As far as costing someone the election, I say run a better campaign. I don't buy that notion. Looks like Moellman may have won the LP ballot access though which coupled with a small personal relationship is what I based my vote on.

I would say in general. The Tea Party has many ideas that are far from the LP's platform. They do typically get the support of the LP as they have proven to be better at winning elections. But I think you will find the LP candidates to be quite different from the Tea Party and they don't seem to get a large portion of support from people claiming to be the Tea Party.

Considering how dominate the Democrats were in every other race I find Comer's margin of victory to be quite impressive.

I have a feeling Alison Lundergan Grimes will have her name mentioned a lot to take down McConnell.

Looking like Gatewood is going to fail to reach double digits. Considering his impressive numbers in Lexington I wish he would go with my long-running idea that he would best be served running for a council seat in Lexington and working his way up from that. Unfortunately it may be too late for even that. He still remains one of the few (possibly only) candidates I am very proud to have cast a vote for.
