I think this one will be close. Russell is the favorite but Western Hills has some really good offensive players.

Does WH have speed? Do they spread the field? If so, they will give Russell all they can handle. I still think that Russell's playoff experience will help them get through this one.

Hills gets it's second playoff win.

I sm going to pick Russell in a very close one or two point win and that is not a strong pick. Western Hills would not suprise me if they won.

 

Of course if Russell doesn't win, everyone in our area will know that it will be coach Ivan Mclone's fault. According to some Russell fans, McGlone after close to or at 40yrs of cosching at Russell with many distict, regional championships, 2 State Cjhampionships in two different classes has all of a sudden forgot how to coach. No way could it be anything else should Russell lose.

Coach Ivan McGlone is a class act and put Russell football on the map when he got there somewhere around the mid 70's.

I'll pick Russell in a close one. Should be a great first round game.

Having seen both teams play, I will be shocked if it is closer that 3 touchdowns.

Western Hills has talent, but Russell does too. Tradition leads Russell to victory.

On paper Russell's defense is alot better.

Western Hills gives up over 36 ppg.

While the devils defense is giving up only 18.5.

Both offenses are averaging about the same. 25 ppg.

Russell is playing at home I believe.

They don't play "on paper" but I agree with you. I just think it wil be alot closer than some may think. Russell has had problems with teams that run the spread as I have heard the Russell people say that WH does spread it out and throw it alot. Should WH mic it up well, run and pass, out of the spread then imo Russell still wins but in close one and as I said before it would not suprie me if WH won. I'll take Russell at "the Hank".
