Just thought I would mention that while the Boone/Ryle/Dixie Coaches, Parents, Fans, Players (whoever) argue amongst themselves about who refused to play who this week in another thread, the CovCath and HHS Frosh will lay it on the line one more time tonight at Highlands (Thursday Oct 27th) and CovCath Internet Radio will broadcast the game live.

And this is why Highlands is the elite in the State and CovCath knows what it takes to be there and has been there btw, two excellent programs who back down from nobody. Good for CovCath to jump at the opportunity and I would expect nothing less then for Coach Behymer to ask for this game again as he did. Rumor has it, when it was decided that teams could setup their own games that Behymer immediately told Dale what he wanted and I am not too sure the CovCath frosh coaches werent working their way into the same direction. Besides, it makes sense imo. Dixie has said they will never play Highlands again, ever, Boone picks and chooses when they want to play Highlands which is too bad imo, SK wants no part of Highlands period, and if I had to guess Ryle was the 2nd call if CovCath had not accepted because they have shown they will take their lumps to get better.

And for future games, well, as of right now CovCath is the only game that matters as these teams will play again and again and again, so its the best scenario for both programs.

 

 

Also, heard some of the coaches complained why it was fair that Highlands got to pick their matchup first............................LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

This will be a fun game for all players and fans on both sides. Plus another opportunity to learn and get better. Good for both programs that they are playing. Play hard, stay healthy and enjoy every minute of your last game as freshmen!

Don't forget, the JV squads also agreed to play 2x this season. Play the best to get better. (This year's JV squad has played Trinity, LaSalle, Withrow, Elder, CovCath 2x and, after SAT, Ryle 2x.) They should be better prepared to play next year.

I think it is pretty clear cut tog, Dixie backed out causing everything to fall apart and Boone decided against playing Ryle in Dixie's place.

 

I do applaud Highlands and CovCath for playing each other again and feel that it can only help their overall football programs in the long run.

This is yet another reason why the Highlands Football Program works. Throw out the records, throw out the level (Frosh, JV, Varsity), throw out home field advantage, these two Northern Kentucky Football programs dominate because they refuse to lose. Are there any two more similar programs where fan support, number of athletes, dedication, and performance are more equal? This is one of the best rivalaries in the Commonwealth and if you fail to attend or listen on the internet, you LOSE!

Awesome idea. Frosh colonels get to try to avenge the loss earlier in the season.

 

 

Question, is Dixie really that hell bent on on avoiding Highlands? If so, Dixie's program is pathetic.

It seems to me that for the benefit of the kids who've practiced their tails off the whole year, and for the benefit of a school's overall football program (frosh/JV/varsity) it's always better to play this kind of game if given the chance. Congrats to HHS and CCH for scheduling this game and Go 'Birds!
