Middlesboro played a great game--particularly their quarterback Chase Roark. Somerset jumped out 14-0 after their second possession and it looked like it might be over early. Somerset had a few players in on defense early with it being senior night that might not otherwise have been playing early and Middlesboro took advantage of it. Middlesboro used a short passing game and scrambles by Roark to eat up a lot of clock and limit Somerset's possessions from that point on and hung around. It was really a matter of a very good quarterback getting hot. Somerset didn't play that badly, they just didn't have the ball all that much after the first quarter. Somerset certainly didn't play as well as they could, especially on defense but it was just a well played game by the Jackets. I think the Danville score might be a little more misleading than this one. Middlesboro had several players out with injuries and suspensions in that game and had a lot of players starting their first game in that one.

Makes more sense now. Thanks. I think Roark got hurt early in the Danville game also. Makes sense now. Thank you.

Roark is a very good QB if he were on another team he would be one of the states top qb's.

Roark was an impressive young man last night.

Do you guys think Danville is all washed up(Purple Pride and AJG)?

No, I just don't think any of the 4 teams in the district are so much better than the other 3 that they can't lose to the others on a given night. In spite of the loss to LCA I feel like Danville is on par with Somerset talentwise and when one of those 2 is on their game that they can blow the others out. Danville could easily win the region, or lose in the first round.

Nope. I wish I could figure out what is going on over there. They are better than how they have played in their losses.

I think you are right, it could be that our district sweeps the sister district also. Danville is hard to figure this season. Their turnover problems seem to figure in the equation a lot.
