Pros and Cons of Having an AD That is Also a Coach

Featured Replies

Most AD's who coach delegate alot of their duties like scheduling etc. to the head coaches of each sport. I don't think it is that big of a deal on the High school level to do both. Don't know many places in the country where an AD does not do both.

Lloyd's AD is also the basketball head coach, I think he has done a great job so far but I think eventually there is going to be a conflict of interest. I believe the AD's job is to make sure the best interests of all sports and the kids are being looked after, at some point those assesments are going to have to be made about the Lloyd basketball team, my concern is who is going to make them? Not alot of guys out there firing themselves!
