tsyoung7 Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 WOW! Is Tilghman that good? Tough game for the fellow Falcons!!!!
UK fball fan Posted October 1, 2011 Author Posted October 1, 2011 Sometimes. Tilghmans like a box of chocolates, you never know what your gonna get. When they're on there game, they can play with most teams, but, they have games where it looks like they're uninspired, undisciplined, going thru the motions and when they're like that, alot of teams can beat them. They do have alot of talent, though.
westsider Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 Fort Campbell led 7-3 at the half and Tilghman didn't take the lead until the final play of the third quarter, then blew the game open in the fourth quarter. Most of the second half was played on the Falcons' side of the field. Fort Campbell had negative yardage in the second half and bad field position all night. Fort Campbell's only touchdown was set up by a Tilghman turnover.
UK fball fan Posted October 1, 2011 Author Posted October 1, 2011 Obviously Tilghmans defense showed up tonight.
FalconBacker Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 (edited) Congrats to Paducah Tilghman #7 on PT is an outstanding football player - probably the best FC has faced this year. This game was a defensive battle for three quarters & the final score doesn't reflect what a close battle this game was. (7 -3 FC until the final play of the 3rd) FC started the game by turning over the ball on the opening KO & struggled with field position the entire game. A blocked field goal and poor punting summed up a horrific night on special teams. I believe over 90% of this game was played on FC's side of the 50. After carrying the team for three quarters, the FC defense finally broke in the 4th. The FC offense was not able to get a first down & coupled with a poor punting game, PT was able to finally get their passing game on-track in the 4th. Edited October 1, 2011 by FalconBacker

I don't think that there's anything that can be added to this...... Later.
westsider Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 PT was able to finally get their passing game on-track in the 4th.A minor correction ... it was actually the third quarter. According to the Paducah Sun, Presnell was 8-9 for 102 yards in the third quarter.
rookie57 Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 WOW! Is Tilghman that good? Tough game for the fellow Falcons!!!! No, they are not very good.
UK fball fan Posted October 3, 2011 Author Posted October 3, 2011 I have to disagree Rookie57. Tilghman has lost 2 games. To Mayfield, who, arguably played its best game of the year and Evansville Reitz, a Top 5 4a team in Indiana. Neither of those 2 losses are what I'd consider a bad loss. They've also hammered 2 solid teams in Ft Campbell and Lone Oak and a better than there record, Graves Co.. They may be, if anything, a little underrated. I fully expect them to make a deep 3a run.

Agree 2 times.
Toothpick Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 PT was made to look possibly worse because they lost those 2 games back to back and then struggled with a solid Graves team but did so without a slew of starters that got hurt against Mayfield includingtheor qb. They are just now getting healthy again. I maybe wrong but was it 7 starters out for Graves?

I maybe wrong but was it 7 starters out for Graves? correction...PT's QB got hurt against Reitz and then tried to play against Mayfield but clearly was not his self so he got pulled halfway thru the 2nd. From all accounts he was glassy eyed and not totally coherant in the first quarter. Jacksons hit on him made things a little fuzzy all over again. They were without 6 starters for the Graves game. Mayfield has a great team and probably would have beaten PT that night but i venture to say it would have been a lot closer had PT been healthy..

And something tells me that Tilghman wouldn't have started him if that was the case.
